Proposed Lunchroom Plans

Dear NPS Families,

This summer the Chicago Public Schools has proposed a redesign of part of the school so that students will no longer eat lunch in the hallway. Attached is the draft high-level overview of the plans. If you have any questions please email Mr. Coors at rwcoors@cps.edu and/or attend one of our next LSC meeting on April 23rd at 6pm or May 14th at 6pm.

ASPEN

On April 22nd, CPS' new student information system called Aspen will go live. The Aspen system will combine several of CPS' current systems, including Parent/Student Portal. Aspen will provide the same capabilities of the old Parent Portal System while adding new features. In order to access the new Aspen Parent Portal, all current users and parents who are interested in creating an account for the first time must set up a new account. Existing Parent Portal accounts will not automatically be transferred to Aspen. Please follow the steps at this link to set up a new Aspen Parent Portal Account.

Parent SEL Session

All NPS parents are invited to join us for one of our Parent SEL Sessions in April. This month we will be offering two sessions: April 25th at 6pm and April 26th at 9am. The same content will be covered in both sessions, choose the one that works best for you! This month our sessions will focus on the topic, How to Help Your Child Be Successful in School (and feel good doing it!). If you are unable to attend a session in person, a recording of the presentation will be posted to the website the week following. Contact Ms. Irwin (mlirwin@cps.edu) or Ms. Rajanen (kfrajanen@cps.edu) with any questions.
