PACCOA Face to Face Meeting 29 March 2017 1:00 pm- 5.30pm Novotel – Coffs HarbourTOPIC 1: Conference General Discussion Theme: “Directions in Corrections: 20 years of PACCOA and beyond” Topics: We will cover historical topics, current topics and emerging trends. Notification of event: Members will be notified of the event through a direct email. Megan and Liz are to liaise about establishing a distribution list. Alisha can update social media including placing the call for papers on our website. Stuart/Megan will email the call for papers to interested presenters. Pamphlet: Jess will create this prior to 27th for review. Distribution will be as above. A special invitation is to be sent to life members. Ticketing system: We will use Eventbrite again. Megan to commence setting this up. Min/Max attendees: 80 minimum and 200 absolute max for conference, with 120 max for conference dinner. We are aiming to get 150 attendees, increasing last conferences attendance by 30. Cut off for purchasing tickets: One month prior to the event to allow us to release rooms if they are not hired. Sharon will organize name tags for the conference as she has the template already. Discuss date to put out call for papers: Draft to be sent out after the 27th April (mid May) and to be returned by end of August. Conference Structure: same as Canberra. Key note speakers will be allocated 1hour 15 minutes and presenters will be allocated 50 minutes. It is also noted that the AGM will be held at 8:30am on the Friday morning – Stuart to organize ability to hold this over. Self care sessions in the mornings will also include yoga/pilates or something on the beach which will be organized by Yolanda. Sharon is to collate the information from the ACT conference and provide this. ACT will bring the Tony Hill Award to the conference already engraved, SA will bring the John Augustus award already engraved, Stuart will bring the PACCOA one, already engraved. These will be stored in the secretariat. Life Member ideas have been put forward at present. These are to be finalized shortly so those who are to be awarded life membership will be in attendance. Dietary requirements: will be on Eventbrite and a print out to be provided to the Venue. Seating: choose your own seating with one reserved table. Band/entertainment options: Yolanda to explore. Create Running sheet for events during dinner: Yolanda and Laurie will organise this, Megan will email them a copy of past ones.
