The role includes many functions, depending classroom needs and the mutual agreement between teacher and madrich or madricha. They may include:Taking attendance, collecting tzedakah, taking it to the office.Monitoring student behavior and assisting in redirecting a child who may have difficulty behaving.Handing out fliers, Supplies, etc.Working one-on-one with students needing individualized attention.Leading an activity. As a part of the Madrichim Team, you may be asked to plan and execute a lesson during the course of the year.Putting up bulletin boards.Straightening up at the end of class.Accompanying students to the restroom or office.Assignments Assignment of Madrichim to classes will be based on the needs of the program and your skills. Preferences will be taken into account. Changes of assignments can only be made by the Religious School Administrator based on the above munity Service Hours/StipendStudents may choose to receive 3 volunteer/community service hour per session. Check with your school to be sure that it will accept this program for community service hours. Students can opt to be paid a stipend of $12 per session. College students may be offered opportunities to sub for teachers who are absent, at the rate of $50.00 per session. ResponsibilitiesAttend classes regularly and on time. If you will be absent, please notify the Religious School Administrator and your teacher in advance by phone or e-mail.You may also be asked to attend staff meetings.Arrive by 9:00am,Sign in at the office. You must sign in to get paid or to keep track of your community service hours.Dress neatly and appropriately. Stay with the class at all times unless you have permission from the teacher. Be engaged in the classroom activity. Sing during music, participate during T’fillah, be involved in classroom discussions, etc. You are a role model for our students!EvaluationAt the end of each semester, the teacher with whom you will be working will evaluate your performance.
