How to apply to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Program

Please read the criteria listed below, if you meet these criteria by the end of the current semester you can apply for the Bachelor of Business Administration by completing the following four steps:

1. Apply for admission to Northern Arizona University by going to

2. Once admitted to NAU, please print and complete the Business Administration Major Application below.

3. Set up an appointment with your local Academic Advisor to submit the application and to review your student status. If you need assistance finding a local advisor, call the Distance Learning Service Center at 1-800-426-8315.

4. Read and acknowledge the code of conduct listed below.

You will be notified of your application status through your NAU email account. You must meet with your advisor to be cleared for registration. If you are not accepted into the program, please make an appointment with your advisor to discuss your status in the program.

Criteria for the Bachelor of Business Administration

Students must meet the following requirements to enter the Bachelor of Business Administration:  

• Complete at least 56 units with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

• Complete the following courses with a grade of C or better in each course: ENG 105 (or ENG 101/102) English Composition, MAT 119 Finite Math, and 131 Brief Calculus, ACC 205 Business Law, 255 Financial Accounting and ACC 256 Managerial Accounting, CIS 120 Computer Information Systems, and ECO 201 Quantitative Analysis, ECO 284 Micro Economics and ECO 285 Macro Economics.   

• Students with a 2.5 grade point average in these courses are guaranteed acceptance into the BBA program. A student whose cumulative grade point average is less than a 2.5 in these courses but at least a 2.25, may be provisionally accepted into the professional program.

• Students may be conditionally admitted to the program if they have completed at least 8 of the 10 prerequisite courses, with both English classes and at least one of the mathematics courses (MAT 119 or MAT 131) completed.

Transfer Students

• Students transferring into the program may meet admission requirements by successfully completing an ABUS degree from an Arizona Community College; or by completing the ten required classes listed above with a 2.5 gpa.

• Students transferring into the program from California may meet the NAU liberal studies requirement by completing an IGETC at a California community college.

• All students must complete the Northern Arizona University ethnic and global diversity requirements. These requirements may be met by completing courses at NAU or at other institutions.

Student Orientation

• Students will participate in an orientation to the university and to the BBA program, including skill-based expectations and recommendations for success in the program.

• sharing a calculator during a quiz or exam

• pre-programming a calculator for use during a quiz or exam unless specifically authorized by the instructor

• using notes or books during an exam unless specifically authorized by the instructor

• looking at another's exam or allowing another student to look at your exam

• exchanging exams, passing notes or text messages

• discussing answers during an exam

• having another take an exam for you or taking an exam for another

• unauthorized possession of or access to examination materials by any means, including electronic transmission, theft, photocopying, electronic or failing to return exams

• altering exams or assignments while in student's possession for review in an attempt to obtain a more favorable grade

• unauthorized collaboration on assignments

• submitting the same paper or substantial portions of a paper for multiple classes

• fabrication of information and citations

• submitting other's words, ideas, materials or work without properly acknowledging and appropriately referencing them

• altering, forging or misusing an academic record

• electronic theft of computer programs, data, or text belonging to another person
