PLANNING ITINERARY

This is our requested tour, pending board approval.

Aspects of this itinerary will change as performance and park opening / closing times are made available.

DAY ONE Thursday February 24, 2011

7:30am Room open

7:45am Meet in Band room for “Roll call”, meet the chaperones and review tour expectations

with parents and students.

8:00am Load buses - Bus Company, Tour West America

8:30am Depart for California.

1:00pm Arrive in Blythe (Arizona time)

Meal: lunch - fast food (you pay)

(Pacific Standard Time)“time to reset your watches back one hour”

1:00pm Depart (California time)

5:00pm Universal Studios City Walk – dinner

Universal Studio’s

This is the City Walk at Universal Studios. Many shops and restaurants (no rides)

A time to stretch your legs, eat and see the sites.

8:00pm Depart for hotel

9:00pm Arrive at hotel and check in.

Embassy Suites Hotel

These are 2 room suites, 3 beds, 6 students in each suite

Hotel etiquette – use inside voices

10:30pm Curfew in rooms, lights out. In room curfew continues until 7:00am

No ice, no soda runs, no pizza delivery, no exceptions! ALL NIGHT!

DAY TWO Friday February 25, 2011

7-8am Meal: Breakfast: In our hotel (included)

8:15am Load buses and depart

8:45am Arrive at CALIFORNIA ADVANTURES / DISNEYLAND

Anaheim, Ca. 92803

There will be FW chaperones at the First Aide station on Main Street Disneyland all day if you need them.

Remember: Groups of “3” rule at all times.

Jazz Band or Marching Band, Orchestra and Choir to Perform

Actual performance times are set by Disney two weeks before performance date

Meal: Dinner on your own in the park (you pay)

9:00pm Depart for hotel.

10:30pm Curfew in rooms, lights out. In room curfew continues until 7:00am

No ice, no soda runs, no pizza delivery, no exceptions! ALL NIGHT!

DAY THREE Saturday February 26, 2011

7-8am Meal: Breakfast: In our hotel (included)

8:15am Load buses and depart

8:45am Arrive at DISNEYLAND / CALIFORNIA ADVANTURES

DAY FOUR Sunday February 27, 2011

7:00am Meal: Breakfast: In our hotel (included)

7:30am Check out of hotel, load buses and depart.

8:00am Depart

12noon Arrive in Blyth for lunch (45 minutes)

1:45pm (Arizona time, reset time – we lose one hour) Depart for home.

We will have snack on the buses for students on the ride home.

6:00pm Arrive back at Flowing Wells High School, Tucson Az.

6:30pm Everyone should be picked up by this time.

Rest up. Be in class on Monday!

Elements beyond our control may affect various aspects of this itinerary.

Tour Cost $350.00

The cost per student is $350.00 which includes transportation on Charter tour buses, Embassy Suite hotel, entry fees at Disneyland & California Adventures, Universal Studio City Walk, Disney Magic Music Days T-shirt, and meals as indicated. Students may withdraw up to $60.00 from their band account to cover meals not included in the tour package. (6 meals @ $10.00 per meal) Students must request this money.

Payment schedule:

November 22, 2010: $175.00 due - Students who made their Washington DC deposit can apply it toward these payments.

January 31, 2011: $175.00 due

WHAT TO BRING ON THIS TRIP

1. Uniform with all accessories, clean band t-shirt, 2 pairs of black socks, gloves, performance shoes

2. Instruments with extra(reeds, valve oil, poms, flag tape, rosin, strings)

3. Nice school clothes (that meet the dress code!) with extra shoes.

4. Night wear suitable for chaperone viewing.

5. Hygiene items (soap, shampoo, tooth brush, DEODORANT, etc.)

6. Jacket, sweater and umbrella.

7. Money for meals not provided (6 meals @ $10.00 per meal) and extra for souvenirs.

8. Band uniforms and instruments will be loaded and stored together.

9. Jazz band attire pack in your own suitcase.

Things you take to the bus

Only one suit case that will go under the bus.

Only one carry on bag that can fit under your seat.

Only walkman type stereos with headphones will be allowed.

Your instrument. (You need to personally see that your instrument is loaded.)

Movies G & PG rated only: all busses have TV / VCR / DVD players. If you would like to bring a video to share, please have your name on the video. Chaperones have the right not to show any video deemed inappropriate.

Behavior Expectations

All school rules apply including

- Dress code - Behavior - Language -

You are part of a traveling classroom 24 hours a day.

Students need to participate in all tour activities with a positive attitude that promotes the optimum learning environment for all. In addition, students must demonstrate their leadership skills by

“leading by example” while on tour.

Remember you are an ambassador of music from Tucson Arizona . Be a CLASS ACT!

Students may be sent home for inappropriate behavior at their parents expense.
