Position summary

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructor is responsible for providing

instruction to students enrolled in the Adult Education Program. The

Adult Education Program offers Literacy, Pre-GED and GED courses.

Responsibilities include teaching, development of course curricula and

? Minimum of 3 years of classroom instruction (experience in adult

education preferred)

? Ability to use technology for instruction/student tracking purposes

Application procedure

Provide high-quality instruction to adult basic education

program participants employing current ABE techniques,

methodologies and best practices

Develop program specific course syllabi and instructional

materials

Provide counseling and mentoring support to newly arriving

students

Assist with student assessment and conduct student

evaluations

Share techniques and trends with ABE colleagues and staff

Administer pre-test to all incoming students and posttest to all

students that meet the requirements

Assist with registration for the ABE classes

Attend state mandated professional development activities
