Orthodox Production

Ronnefeldt exclusively sources from world-renowned tea plantations where all of the teas are handpicked, following the orthodox method of tea production. Less than one-third of the world's teas are produced this way, and the difference in quality speaks for itself. Only this traditional and gentle hand-craftsmanship preserves and enhances the tea's fine aroma. To ensure best quality, the tea is further guaranteed by independently conducted lab tests of every batch produced.

The Process of Producing Premium Tea

(Orthodox Method)

Immediately after harvesting, the fresh green leaves embark on

the first six steps of orthodox tea processing:

1. Plucking: Two leaves and one bud are plucked by hand.

2. Withering: Spreading tea on large withering tables fanned by

warm air for 12 to 18 hours reduces moisture.

3. Rolling: A gentle process of releasing the cell sap in counter-

rotating discs.

4. Fermenting: A tea maturing process; cell sap oxidizes to give

tea its characteristic flavor.

5. Drying: A process of ending fermentation at 194?F/90?C.
