LITERARY WORKS

Students listen to a sound document, recitation of an extract from Elytis’s literacy work: “Axion Esti-Πορεία προς το μέτωπο”

Inspired by ‘Άξιον Εστί’ learners are asked to make posters which are later put up on the multi-activity board.

POETRY-SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

They are shown a video clip of the song “Zei”. Its lyrics is an Elytis’s poem about the light and sea of Greece.

They study poems through his collection “Ο ήλιος ο ηλιάτορας” which is also a tribute to love.

TECHNIQUES-CHARACTERISTICS

Students are given the poem “Πάθη” and are asked to submit an analysis in terms of the techniques used. After the analysis we see a lot of lyrism out of a conventional writing style.

They consolidate by making a PPT presentation, which is posted on the website of our school.

Finally, after listening to music of one of Elytis’s poems they are asked to note down their feelings using adjectives, with which they make their own poems.

A competition takes place and they decide on their favourite poem which they cover with their own music and sing it in the final school festival.
