Our Vision - Clover Sites

Membership at Summerbrook Community Church is much more than just having your name on a list; it is Intentional. Membership indicates a willingness to partner with us and potentially lead in our mission to connect lost people to God, disciple believers through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and to see those connected people become disciples equipped for connecting others.

Specifically, as a member of Summerbrook you will be called upon to help create, lead, and resource our various ministry environments. Intentional membership values include service and community. Therefore we ask that all members be involved in a small group environment and serve on a ministry team.

Please review all the information presented, ask questions, express concerns, and if you are ready to move forward with membership, please complete the last three pages and return them to Tim Dorn. Each person applying for membership needs to complete a separate application

Our Vision

Our vision is to see people that are separated from God become connected to God; to see people connected to God become disciples of Jesus Christ; and to see disciples of Jesus Christ become equipped for ministry to the church and the community.

There are five basic areas of commitment that we value for Intentional Membership

• Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Having been baptized since accepting Christ.

• A willingness to support this ministry with time, talents and treasure.

• A willingness to be held accountable to the church in matters concerning relationship to God and to others.

• Participation in a small group and serving in a ministry or outreach of the church.

What We Believe is not an exhaustive list of doctrine, but a list of those things we consider essential to being a follower of Christ and a member of the Church.

We believe the Bible is the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word of God. It is God’s Revelation of Himself to man. It has Salvation for its end, and truth without error for its matter. It reveals God’s principles and is the supreme standard by which He will judge human conduct.

We believe there is one God, eternally existent as Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is infinite in love, holiness, and perfection; and to Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. He is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His personal ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory.

We believe the only means of salvation is to surrender our lives completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We turn to God with true humility and brokenness, receiving Jesus as our Lord and relying on Him alone as the only and all-sufficient Savior.

We believe that spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. It is the result of God’s free grace based upon faith in Jesus Christ and evidenced by a life that is being conformed to the image of Christ.

We believe in the Blessed Hope--the second coming of Jesus Christ to claim His church.

We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human mind, spirit, and body in answer to believing prayer.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; the prior to everlasting life and the latter to everlasting damnation.

Spiritual History

Our vision at Summerbrook is to see lost people connected to God, discipled and equipped to be used by God to connect others. This first section about your spiritual history helps us to learn about your growing relationship with Jesus. Please be as complete and concise as possible.

The Bible teaches that God is relational. He desires a growing relationship with everyone. However, we are born separated from God because of sin. God's desire for a relationship with us is so great that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross as the payment for our sin. All who believe that Jesus Christ died on their behalf and believe that His death paid for their sin, and have asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior have a relationship with God.

In light of this, do you believe that you have entered into this relationship?

Yes ( No ( Not Certain (

If God were to ask you why you should be allowed into heaven, how would you answer?

Please state briefly how and when you accepted Christ.

Baptism

Baptism is a symbol of our identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and therefore is an important step for every believer.

Have you been baptized since you began your personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

Yes ( No (

If you haven’t been baptized by immersion we ask you to be baptized as soon as possible.
