The good news is that you can usually fix the problem easily, as long as you address the issue right away rather than continuing to browse and save new bookmarks. The best solution if your Chrome bookmarks have disappeared is to restore them from the backup, but if this isn't possible you may have to add them manually or use a different approach. As Computer World explains, the simplest approach to restore your Chrome bookmarks is to use the backup file called "bookmarks.bak," which you should be able to find your Chrome user data folder. Search for "bookmarks.bak" in Windows Explorer, then right-click the file and choose "Open file location" to be taken right to the folder. Alternatively, you can navigate to: "C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default," with your profile name in place of "NAME." Locate the two bookmarks files: Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak. Open Bookmarks.bak in Notepad, and check to confirm your old bookmarks are listed in the file. The file backs up when you open your browser, and this is why it's important to try to rectify the issue as soon as possible, so it still has a chance of containing your bookmarks.
