Welcome Families!

Thank you for joining us for Family & Friends Weekend 2021. We have planned an exciting weekend designed to appeal to family members of all ages. Please know that none of the events listed on the schedule are mandatory, but several do require advanced registration or ticket purchase.

Saturday, October 23

9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Carriage House

Check-In

Stop by check-in to pick up a printed Family & Friends schedule and your Phantom Fall Fest tickets, if you've purchased them. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Mellon Center Courtyard

Mix and Mingle Brunch

The Mix & Mingle Brunch will be held at the Mellon Courtyard and will allow family and friends and their Chatham students to get to know each other and to mingle with Chatham University President David Finegold and his wife Sue Finegold.

Shop at the Chatham Bookstore

The Chatham Bookstore will be open on Saturday so don't forget to stop by to stock up on your Chatham swag. To get a 20% off coupon, visit and enter your email as well as the Access Code 0483. Happy shopping!

Brunch at the Shadyside or Eden Hall Dining Hall or On Your Own

All are welcome to dine in the Shadyside Campus' dining hall, Anderson, or in the Esther Barazzone Center at the Eden Hall Campus. Both are all-you-can-eat venues charging $9.80 for brunch. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can dine at one of the local restaurants in nearby Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, or East Liberty.

12:00-11:00 p.m. Kennywood Park

Phantom Fall Fest at Kennywood

During the day, Kennywood will become Phantom Fall Fest, suitable for family members of all ages. Fan favorite rides and food courts will be open. Once the clock hits 6:00 pm, prepare to be spooked! The park transforms into Phantom Fright Night with a variety of haunted houses and other Halloween-themed attractions. Transportation is on your own.

*Cost is $15 per participant (advanced ticket purchase required)

Women's & Men's Swimming vs. Penn State Altoona

Athletic & Fitness Center Cheer on the Cougars as they take on the Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams in a meet at home!

1:00-2:00 p.m.

Meet at the Esther Barazzone Center

Eden Hall Campus Tour

Family and friends are invited to take a tour of the beautiful Eden Hall Campus located in Gibsonia. Those who wish to tour the campus should meet at the front doors of the EBC.

1:00-5:00 p.m. Carriage House

Carriage House Open House

Spend the afternoon playing games or relaxing in the Carriage House. The event will feature oracle readings by Chatham alum Indigo Baloch and magic from a strolling magician. Our game room features a pool table, Nintendo Switch, electronic dartboard, Pac-Man arcade machine, and more. We also have all of your favorite new and classic board games available for check out. Refreshments will be provided.
