DUTY STATEMENT

Job Title: Administration Support Officer

Classification: Level 1

Salary: $43,919 – $51,418 per annum

Location: Perth Office

Position Status: Part Time, up to 4 days per week

Department: Corporate Services

Reports to: Corporate Services Manager

Your Role

In order to fulfil our mission, pursue our vision and in accordance with our vision, the Administration Support Officer is required to:

1. Provide administrative support to the Operational Staff of Central Desert;

2. Contribute to the organisation’s and Corporate Services team’s commitment to continuous improvement;

3. Participate in special projects or project teams (as directed); and

4. Participate as a member of the Corporate Services Team.

Your Duties

1. Provide administrative support to the Operational staff of Central Desert;

1. Work within the established filing system to create, update and maintain the physical and electronic files in an accurate, well-organised and timely manner in accordance with existing procedures;

2. Use the existing electronic database to maintain an accurate record of file names, contents and locations;

3. Ensure the archive and storage of files is maintained in line with legal requirements; and

4. Ensure the filing procedures are maintained, current and available for staff access at all times.

2. Provide assistance to the Corporate Services Team;

1. Provide relief support to the Corporate Services Officer (Front Admin) in respect of phones, mail, data entry and all other front office functions as required; and

2. Undertake administrative tasks, research and system development as directed by the Corporate Services Manager

3. Contribute to the organisation’s and Corporate Services Team’s commitment to continuous improvement;

1. Maintain an openness and willingness to share ideas that may contribute to the efficient and effective working of the Corporate Services Team;

2. Contribute to the organisation’s and Corporate Services Team’s strategic planning and individual performance management processes; and

3. Participate in professional development training.

4. Participate in special projects or project teams (as directed).

5. Participate as a member of the Corporate Services Team;

1. Assist in other areas within the Corporate Services Team as required;

2. Attend and participate in Corporate Services planning and team meetings;

3. Develop policies and procedures in areas relevant to the Corporate Services Officer portfolio;

4. Adhere to all Central Desert Group policies and procedures; and

5. Other duties as directed by the Corporate Services Manager.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Experience in maintaining office filing.

2. Previous experience in a customer service or reception role in a professional environment.

3. An ability to work and communicate effectively and respectfully with a range of people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

4. Ability to work and manage tasks independently, and work effectively within a team.

5. High level accuracy and attention to detail when undertaking administrative tasks.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Experience in working within an Aboriginal organisation.

2. Previous experience working in a legal environment.

3. Previous experience using and maintaining a database.
