TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Review the Study Tips below to help you succeed on the

Sunshine State Standards identified.

PALABRAS 1 y 2 (pages 192¨C199)

? You already know some vocabulary related to airport and air travel

from what you learned in Level 1. Before going over the vocabulary,

think of the words that you already know about this topic. FL.B.1.3.4

? If you¡¯re the type of learner who has to write something before you can

remember, copy the words in the Palabras section once or twice. Use the

following learning sequence: listen, repeat, read, write. FL.A.2.2.5

Bougainvillea flowers

Modo potencial o condicional de verbos regulares (pages 200¨C202)

? See if you remember the endings for the imperfect of -er and -ir verbs.

You will use these endings again with the conditional. FL.D.1.4.1

? This grammatical point should be quite easy for you:

? The conditional is used in Spanish in exactly the same way as it is in English.

? You are already familiar with the root for the conditional ¡ª the entire infinitive.

You have already used the root for the future tense.

? You are also already familiar with the endings from your study of the imperfect. FL.D.1.4.1

Modo potencial de verbos irregulares (pages 203¨C205)

Remember, the root of irregular verbs is the same for the future and the conditional tenses.

FL.D.1.4.1

Dos complementos con se

(pages 205¨C207)

? Re-read the Hint for me lo, te lo, nos lo on page H24. If you want to give yourself more

practice, you can do the following substitution exercises: Follow the model:

Yo le di el boleto.

Yo se lo di a ¨¦l.

(los boletos, la tarjeta de embarque, el malet¨ªn, las maletas, el peri¨®dico,

las revistas, las fotograf¨ªas, el carro, las llaves, la carta, el sello, el bol¨ªgrafo,

For tips to help you address the Sunshine State Standards, see the Study Tips

for Chapter 7 on pages H24 and H25 at the back of your textbook.
