- Host Danny Forster returns with a brand new season this -

Just when you thought they had reached the limit, Discovery Channel’s BUILD IT BIGGER returns with a new season – taller, heftier and definitely upsized. This , Danny continues his travels around the world to breakdown the most astounding engineering feats such as Hong Kong’s Stonecutters Bridge which is the world’s second longest cable stayed bridge, the multi billion dollar Al Raha beach development in Abu Dhabi, and the US Navy’s state-of-the-art amphibious assault ships. BUILD IT BIGGER premieres every at , starting . Encores .

Nerdy, quirky and undoubtedly enthusiastic about architecture and construction, Danny’s big break came when he answered Discovery’s call for a TV host audition while working on his Harvard graduate thesis. Now, as the host of BUILD IT BIGGER, Danny brings his love for architecture to each episode, going behind-the-scenes of live construction sites to reveal the complexities, challenges, dangers and ingenious executions of each job.

Danny doesn’t just watch from a distance but prefers to get up close and personal to the very fabric of the construction site, assisting the crews and getting, well… deep down and dirty. Ever willing to go out on a limb to shed light on complex construction techniques, he tries his hand at some of the jobs involved in the projects. This includes having to venture up skyscrapers and towering cranes – and facing his acute fear of heights!

From public works and private buildings to warships and bridges, Danny takes viewers on a joy ride through the processes behind these engineering marvels – from design to construction. Bigger, better, taller, faster – the sky’s the limit!

BUILD IT BIGGER episode descriptions:

Las Vegas has never seen a bigger roll of the dice than the US$12 billion dollar CityCenter. Join Danny as he explores how this mega-resort aspires to change the city from an opulent vacationland to a continental metropolis.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium

Behold the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, which measures 3 million square feet, 73 acres and cost over $1.1 billion dollars to build. Join Danny as he combs the largest football stadium ever constructed in the United States - before 100,000 fans eventually do.

Once the largest and most expensive engineering project the world had ever seen, the Panama Canal is in danger of becoming obsolete. Join Danny as he finds out if a new $5.25 billion expansion project could resuscitate the Panama.

Peru Dam & Tunnel

One of the deepest tunnels ever attempted will break through the Andes to bring water to drought-ridden farms in western Peru. Join Danny as he visits remote Olmos to learn how this project will dramatically impact this country's future.

BIOGRAPHY

BY DANNY FORSTER

Danny Forster loves to talk. When he was a child in suburban New Jersey, his parents made him choose: he could talk during the first half of dinner or the second, but not both. He picked the first, because he couldn’t wait. One imagines that during the second half, they didn’t talk either; they just enjoyed the peace.

Turns out Danny was just warming up, because it wasn’t until college that he found his subject: architecture. At Wesleyan University, Danny majored in art history, but what he was crazy about was buildings. Much as he loved buildings, though, Danny never dreamed he could be an architect, so when he graduated from college, he started an internet company but he missed the thing he really loved: architecture.

When he finally followed his passion to architecture school, his passion made him pay. For one thing, Danny still couldn’t draw, and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, they don’t really feel it’s their job to teach you. That’s when he got a tip from his girlfriend about an open audition to host Extreme Engineering for the Discovery Channel. He sent in a three-minute clip of himself talking about architecture - not out of any expectation that he’d get the job.

Danny got his dream job. And his architecture degree. He started his own firm, Danny Forster Design Studio. And now he’s the host of his own show Build It Bigger.

His producers are still trying to get him to talk less.
