How to Add the Tax Exemption Status to Your Amazon Account

1. Log on to your account.

2. On the Amazon home screen, click ¡°Your Account¡±.

3. Under ¡°Settings¡±, click ¡°Amazon Tax Exemption Program¡±.

Click the ¡°Get Started!¡± button on the Amazon Tax Exemption Program (ATEP) Enrollment page.

Click on the box next to Massachusetts then click on the ¡°Save and Continue¡± button.

6. Under ¡°What kind of tax exempt organization are you?¡± select ¡°Education Institution¡±. Click on the ¡°Save and

Continue¡± button.

7. Have both the Massachusetts Department of Revenue Form ST-2 - Certificate of Exemption and the

Massachusetts Department of Revenue Form ST-5 - Sales Tax Exempt Purchaser Certificate forms saved on your

computer. For each form, click ¡°browse¡± to find and select the appropriate document. Once this is done for

both forms, click the box next to ¡°You must first agree to our Terms and Conditions before uploading your

exemption certificate.¡± Finally, click the ¡°Upload¡± box.

You should then receive a confirmation message that your documents have been uploaded (see below).

Amazon will review your documentation within 24 hours. Confirmation of the tax exempt status will be emailed

to the email address you have associated with your Amazon account.

9. Once you have been approved for the tax exemption, moving forward you should receive a message that the tax

exemption has been applied when you go to checkout.
