Civics

-Unit 2 Final-

Through the course of this unit we have learned about the foundations of political ideologies and how they play out in the political arena. We have learned about the social left vs. social right, the economic left vs. economic right. We have learned about major parties, minor parties, party platforms, national conventions, lobbyists, special interest groups, campaign finance laws, etc. And more importantly we have seen first-hand how the American Political system is significantly divided (i.e. the recent Government Shutdown and Debt Ceiling Crisis: 10/1/13-10/16/13). Now it is time for us to put it all together.

Rather than taking a test or writing an essay, for this assignment you will be creating a chapter for a “textbook”. Imagine that as a class we are writing a textbook on the American Political System. This chapter will focused on the things that we have learned in this unit. On the back of this paper you will find a list of all of the key terms and ideas that we have covered. Be aware that this is not an all-encompassing list. You may feel free to add to this list if there is something not mentioned that you would like to address.
