On their Retreat Day, the candidates will reflect on the love and support of those around them. We would like to surprise each candidate with a letter of encouragement at that time from you. You have shown that special concern that makes all the difference in the life of a young Christian. In case you have never written such a letter, or are unsure of how to begin, we have included a sample outline below. The main requirement is that the letter be from you heart.

Things to include are:

How proud you were of this young person during his/her preparation for Confirmation ? the effort, service, prayer, concern, and care he/she has shown.

The special place in the family this person holds. What you look for in them that no one else can give. How they have brought love and joy to the family and others.

How much you love them and how grateful you are for all they are to you and others.

The hope that this young person will always strive to grow in his/her relationship with God and live a moral, responsible life as a fully initiated Catholic.

Please put your letter in the attached envelope with the candidate's name on the outside and send it to the Religious Formation Office no later than January 2015.
