MISSION STATEMENT

MISSION STATEMENT

of

The Student Christian Association

❖ This club seeks to deepen the knowledge and understanding of the

Christian faith in the minds and hearts of those who attend. The basic, major beliefs of Christianity are the club’s foundation. See our Statement of Faith and Eph. 1:17-19 and Eph. 4:13,14.

❖ The Bible will be the authoritative source for studying Christianity from a doctrinal standpoint, as well as for stimulating personal spiritual growth.

(see II Tim. 3:16)

❖ Enjoying fellowship with other believers is one of the great blessings of being a Christian, second only to the precious personal fellowship we have with Jesus. While some fellowship takes place during the Monday meetings, fun gatherings at other times are encouraged where lasting friendships can be made in more informal settings.

❖ The SCA endeavors to be a light to the HVCC campus community through the lives and activities of its members, and through periodically giving away Bibles and a variety of other Christian books. Our demeanor, attitudes, moral behavior, integrity, humility, and selfless love for others should reflect Christ in everything we do and say. How we live is our first and primary witness. Sharing our faith verbally is encouraged, as long as it is done with sensitivity and respect, and by the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

❖ Whenever possible, and according to the desires of the members, this club will participate in campus-wide holiday food drives and other service-oriented activities which seek to help those in need. (see Ps. 41:1, Prov. 21:13, Gal. 2:10)
