RE: Request that the Governor's January 10, 2007 Inaugural Prayer Service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral

on Sumter Street be Moved to Another Church's Worship Center

SUBJ: 1) Trinity Episcopal Cathedral's lead cleric, Dr. Phil Linder has openly and publicly expressed his apostate,

pro-sodomite beliefs in an op-ed printed in The State newspaper: "…we believe in the full inclusion of

gays, lesbian and women within the life of the Episcopal Church," and yet he will be giving a "Welcome"

to the assembled attendees at the Inaugural Prayer Service. mld/state/news/opinion/14974617.htm

2) Sodomy is a crime against the Law of God and a crime against the Laws of South Carolina.

Dear Governor Mark Sanford,

This is a follow-up to my letter of December 15 sent to you, and copied to some of your staff, on the same

subject. After providing a copy to your Inaugural Committee's executive director, Marisa Crawford, I spoke with

her on the phone yesterday. While I am thankful to hear that the homosexual staff member at Trinity Cathedral will

not be personally involved with the presentation of the music or singing at your Prayer Service, I nevertheless still remain opposed to the plans for Dr. Phil Linder to give a "Welcome" message. This false shepherd fully supports the inclusion of those engaged in the abominable act of sodomy, without repentance, as members in good standing of

Trinity Cathedral. In the Free Times article, homosexual Doak Wolfe and his partner in sodomy, Gordon Smith,

were reported to "wear wedding rings; they exchanged vows in a private ceremony…" Free Times, Oct. 11-17, 2006.

The Bible, the Laws of South Carolina, and the recent referendum vote on an amendment to the South Carolina Constitution, each proclaim that such acts and/or such a relationship is immoral, wrong, and/or unlawful. You as the

"Chief Magistrate of the State" of SC, have a duty to uphold the moral and statutory law of our state. By choosing a

church building location, with the apparent foreknowledge of at least your staff, if not you as well, wherein those

who are unrepentant of their practice of sodomy are accepted, is a disgrace to our state. It sets a shameful example.

Most importantly, it is a Reproach to the Name of Jesus Christ, Who is Governor of All Nations (Psalm 22:28).

George Washington said that "Religion and morality are indispensable supports" of "political prosperity," and

"In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labour to subvert these great Pillars…" By

scheduling your Inaugural Prayer Service inside the building of a publicly, openly, professedly sodomite "church,"

you are in effect subverting the true Religion (Biblical Christianity) and Morality of the State of South Carolina.

God's Word speaks repeatedly on the issue of homosexual male sodomy, calling it an "abomination" for one man

to lie with another (Lev. 18:22); calling it unnatural, and reaping the consequences of their error (Romans 1:26,27);

and condemning those to hell, along with fornicators and adulterers, who do not repent. (1 Corinthians 6:9,10).

The SC Code of Laws (SECTION 16-15-120) condemns the act of sodomy as an "abominable crime," and a

criminal conviction for the same requires a man to register with the Sex offender registry (SECTION 23-3-430).

As I did with Marisa Crawford on the phone yesterday, I renew my request that the location of the Prayer Service

be changed. Gov. Beasley's Jan. 1995 Inaugural Prayer Service was in First Baptist Church's building; alternatively, the front door of First Presbyterian Church's building is two blocks from the front door of Trinity Cathedral. Please do not honor a cleric whom Jesus would call a wolf in "sheep's clothing" (Matthew 7:15), and do not honor this false "church" which defends sodomy, by holding your Inaugural Prayer Service in Trinity Cathedral. God is not mocked.

(Galatians 6:7). I believe that should this location not change by tomorrow, the public and press should be informed.

Jesus Christ is King of All the Earth (Psalm 47:7, 1 Timothy 6:15),

Steve Lefemine
