Necessary Requirements to Legalize a document by the Ethiopian Embassy

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE FULFILLED IN ORDER TO LEGALIZE A DOCUMENT BY THE ETHIOPIAN EMBASSY:

1. An application letter written by the applicant

2. Your document must be authenticated by a Notar and by the responsible District Court of the Region (or for Czech, Slovak and Polish citizens by the respective Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign Ministry of their country)

3. A copy of your passport or Identity card (for private applicant) or a copy of the trade registration of your Firm

4. One copy of your original document for our file

5. The legalization fee (per Document)-

Euro 85,50 for German, Czech, Slovak and Polish citizens

Euro 55,80 for Ethiopians

6. Pre-paid stamp and self addressed return envelope for registered mail (Euro 6,20 in cash for mails to Czech Rep., Slovak Rep. and Poland)

7. In the case of Certificates for Pharmaceutical Products and Equipment the legalization process requires the submission of a copy of the Import/Export trade license issued by the Ethiopian authorities. If an Agent Agreement exists, a copy should be submitted as well.

Important Notice !

A processing fee which is transferred by mistake or which is over-paid will not be refunded.

Moreover, the Embassy would like to remind you that any document which is legalized by the Ethiopian Embassy together with the copy of your passport should be presented to the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry in Addis Abeba within one year.
