MINUTES, HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL, WEDNESDAY, February 19, 2020

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Paul Menne; present were council members Jim Wartman, Randy Tiegs, Robyn Geldner and Janet Boese. Also present were Troy Koester, Dimitri Ikonitski Doug Thomas and Lucy Meyer.

Motion Geldner, seconded Boese to approve minutes of January 15, 2020 meeting. Motion carried.

Police Chief Ikonitski presented his report.

Presentation of Henderson Pride initiative by Lucy Meyer.

Discussion on Minnesota River Watershed Water Storage Initiative lead by Doug Thomas.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Geldner to approve Resolution 2020-02 related to the water storage initiative-Motion carried.

City Administrator reported on activity report, discussions with Le Sueur on JPA/Wastewater agreement; FEMA on 2018 and 2019 Disasters, debt balances and discussions with the auditor and First State Bank of Henderson, comparable worth, 2020 budget submitted to State of Minnesota, recommendation of approval of Pay Equity report, selection of a firm to provide flood mitigation and levee design services and other monthly activities.

Motion Geldner, seconded Tiegs to approve Resolution 2020-01 related to short term debt agreement with First State Bank. Motion carried.

Motion Geldner, seconded Janet to approve the 2019 Pay Equity Report. Motion carried.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Boese to hire S.E.H. to provide levee and flood mitigation services with exact details to be presented for approval later. Motion carried

Mayor Menne reported on status of flood mitigation project and the legislative process and upcoming Flood fest on April 4th.

Mayor Menne report on last meeting of LSH school tasks force and looking at a new consulting firm, upcoming potential special election and the role and helpfulness Erina Prom played in the process.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Geldner to approve the League OF Cities Liability waiver as presented. Motion carried.

Motion Geldner, seconded Boese to approve the revised meeting schedule. Motion carried.

Mayor Menne adjourned the meeting at 8:45 P.M.
