Benchmark 1.11 (SOL-BIO1, BIO4, BIO5, BIO7, and BIO8)

Students investigate and understand that biological classifications indicate how organisms are related. Organisms are classified into a hierarchy of groups and subgroups based on similarities that reflect their evolutionary relationships. The species is the most fundamental unit of classification.
