Expectations:

1) You will work hard. The work will not be easy. You will have to put forth effort and work hard. Learning English is foundational to your success in all your classes. You will have homework.

2) You will respect the teacher and each other. You are old enough to give and receive respect.

3) Keep complaints to a minimum. We all know it’s “too early in the morning” or “after lunch,” and we all know we would prefer to be sleeping. We don’t need to be reminded, but we do need to learn English.

4) Get your work done. Incomplete work is not an option. Failure to turn in homework will result in homework haven being assigned. See school policy regarding late work.

5) Be prepared and on time. Come with your own pencil/pen, paper, and supplies every day to class. No excuses.

6) Do not bring food or drink in the classroom (except water). This includes gum, candy, paper, etc. Keep your mouth empty and ready for clear speaking. You will be asked to throw away any food or drink you take out.

7) Stay on task. Listen while the teacher is talking and work on assignments. Ask questions. You are here to learn English, not waste time.

8) Stay in your seat unless asked to move by the teacher. No wandering around the room distracting other students.

9) Do not use profanity in the classroom. This includes disrespectful words and phrases aimed at your peers. Non-compliance will result in disciplinary action.

10) The teacher will teach, help, and guide you through the course, but it is your responsibility to learn.
