1154430-983372019 Teacher Training Reimbursement for Advanced Placement and International BaccalaureateIn support of the Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Incentive Program, the teacher training reimbursement (TTR) program reimburses public school districts and open enrollment charter schools for a portion of the cost related to an approved teacher training up to a maximum of $450 for each eligible teacher. Texas Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Incentive ProgramThe Texas Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate Incentive Program (AP/IB), originally established in 1993 by the 73rd Texas Legislature, is designed emphasize the state’s commitment to high academic performance by recognizing and rewarding students, teachers, and schools that demonstrate success in achieving the educational goals of the state.The 2019 TTR Reimbursement Application ().To be eligible for reimbursement, a district must verify that the training:is TEA approvedoccurred between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019is aligned with the course the teacher will be teaching during the 2019-2020 school yearImportant:applications must be submitted by a district AP/IB coordinator, applications from individual teachers are not acceptedcounselors, librarians, administrators, facilitators, and coordinators are not eligible for reimbursementcopies of training certificates must be kept on file at the campus/districtonly applications submitted on or before September 30, 2019 via the online system will be accepted; emailed, mailed, and faxed applications will not be acceptedTEA approved trainings for 2019 TTR include:College Board endorsed Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI), minimum 24 hoursIBO endorsed training, 3 consecutive days, minimum 15 hoursNational Math and Science Initiative training, minimum 24-hoursThree-consecutive-day Initial Springboard Institute, minimum 15 hoursConfer Mentoring Program?, minimum 24 hoursThree-consecutive-day training course, provided by a university that is approved to host an APSI, that will provide teachers with depth of content and rigorous instructional strategies in AP, Pre-AP, IB, MYP or an equivalent advanced course, minimum 15 hoursCollege Board approved online training that consists of a minimum of 24 hours of instructionPre-AP, Middle Years Program (MYP), and equivalent advanced courses must be approved by the local district as advanced-level courses and are:offered in grades 6-12,greater in depth and complexity than the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS),at a level of rigor to prepare students for success in AP/IB courses, andare in a vertically aligned sequence of courses that ends with an AP/IB courseEligible teachers:2019-2020 Texas public school teachers in the district that requests the reimbursement,participated in a TEA approved training,teach an AP, IB, or an equivalent advanced course during the 2019-2020 year, anddid not receive a reimbursement for a 2018 teacher trainingTTR applications must be submitted through a TEA survey (coming soon)the application requires an email address for a responsible party appointed district coordinator, as well as a business office staff member, and the superintendentthe responsible party/AP Coordinator is responsible for all information in the application this person must verify the information submitted to the Texas Education Agency via the published application and certify its truth and accuracy.The following information will be needed to complete the application:designated AP/IB contact for each district applying for the reimbursementbusiness office representative from each district who will be responsible for ensuring the TTR funds are receiveddistrict name and county, district number (CDN)campus name and county, district, campus number (CDCN) where each eligible teacher will be teaching an AP, Pre-AP, IB, MYP or an equivalent advanced course during the 2019- 2020 school yeareach eligible teacher’s first and last nameTEA-assigned Unique Identification Number (Unique ID) for each teacher submitted.total registration fee paid for each trainingthis should only reflect the cost of registration and should not include costs related to travel, meals, or lodgingnumber of hours participated as printed on the training certificatetype of course (i.e., Pre-AP/an equivalent course, Pre-IB/MYP, IB, AP)subject name (e.g., Biology) that will be taught by each eligible teachername of the training host/provider (e.g., APSI UT-Austin, Texas IB Schools)name of the training course in which each teacher participated (e.g., AP Biology for New Teachers)How much will be reimbursed:In accordance with TEC §28.053, funding priority for teacher training reimbursements will be given to public school campuses that do not offer AP or IB courseseligible teachers at campuses that offer new AP/IB programs in the 2019-2020 school year, including IB candidate schoolsRemaining TTR funds will be distributed evenly among all remaining eligible teachers. Please note that the amount of the reimbursement for this priority will not be known until all reimbursement applications have been received and approved. The 2019 TTR will not exceed $450 per eligible teacher. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available funds, TEA may reimburse less than $450 per teacher.How to expect payment:TTR funds will be disbursed through a direct deposit to each district.
