Saturday Afternoon Special Activities Program 1975 – 2004

The Saturday Afternoon Special Activities Program (SASAP) is sponsored by the Health Professions, Physical Education, Recreation and Leisure Studies Department of Montclair State University. The program is designed to meet the physical activity needs of developmentally disabled children between ages 6-18.

Special Needs Aquatic Program 1975 – Present

The MAP is an instructional aquatic program designed to meet individual needs developmentally disabled students. The aquatic environment is used as an educational experience for both the developmentally disabled and college interns. The interns apply class theory in a practical situation. Daily feedback is provided by the MAP supervisor.

Two hundred and fifty athletes participated in a lacrosse program designed for college and club level players
