Last January, we got news that the Subaru Outback would be reclassified for 2005 from a car to a "light truck" by just raising the ground clearance a little and repositioning the back bumper. That would allow it to pass the efficiency requirement without having to improve MPG at all, since the "light truck" category has a lower standard. ................
