|Overall purpose of the role |The Senior Corporate Fundraising & Philanthropy Officer will work to generate income and other|

| |added-value benefits from profit-making organisations and major donors. The role will also |

| |support the Philanthropy Team’s work on other income streams, as required. |

The Fundraising Department

This role sits within the Major Gifts team, which is part of the wider Fundraising department. The Major Gifts team is responsible for raising income from high-value donors, legacies, trusts/foundations and corporates. The Fundraising department also comprises Donor Marketing & Digital Fundraising and Supporter Care (Supporter Engagement, Database Management & Community Fundraising).

Key responsibilities:

1. Corporate fundraising and major donor programme management

▪ Research, identify and make approaches to corporate organisations and high-net wealth individuals, ensuring each approach is tailored as appropriate to secure support.

▪ Maintain and deliver the corporate fundraising activity calendar, including timed corporate appeals and charity-of-the-year applications.

▪ Organise events, visits, meetings, tours and other appropriate activities to encourage and maintain support from corporates and major donors.

▪ Project-manage the development and production of SPANA fundraising and marketing materials, to support corporate and major donor fundraising activities.

▪ Work with SPANA colleagues to identify and maintain a list of suitable projects that would particularly appeal to potential corporate partners and major donors.

▪ Project-manage the delivery of the major donor direct marketing programme, working across all aspects including briefing, sourcing information, writing copy, managing data selection, print management and thanking suite.

▪ Project-manage the major donor stewardship programme, which will entail researching donors, producing a communications plan and an annual events programme to cultivate relationships. 

▪ Work with the Communications team to ensure required PR activities are developed and delivered.

▪ Prepare and present written reports and information as required.

▪ Ensure relevant thank-you’s and responses are delivered to corporate partners and major donors, as part of the charity’s stewardship programme.

2. Project support and administration

▪ Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the corporate and major gifts fundraising programmes such as drafting documents, updates and meeting minutes, dealing with telephone queries, data entry and filing.

▪ Create and maintain accurate records of corporate fundraising and major donor activities on our CRM database. 

▪ Provide regular reporting on progress, targets and income generated 

▪ Administer the corporate and major gifts fundraising programmes according to set procedures and timelines, whilst providing exemplary stewardship.

3. Other

▪ Ensure all SPANA’s corporate fundraising and philanthropic activities are legally compliant.

▪ Uphold and promote SPANA’s policies and procedures at all times.

▪ Any other duties that may reasonably be required.
