Position Summary

The Director of Recruitment will work closely with St. David’s HealthCare executive teams and orchestrate the strategic recruitment process for the Central Texas market.  Responsibilities will include: assisting facility human resources departments in developing and improving their recruiting processes; overseeing the development of all recruitment advertising in the market or in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Workforce to ensure the candidate pools are optimized; and supervising and directing the activities of the recruiting staff and their performance metrics. The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing, evaluating and recommending new recruiting strategies, department budget and product or vendor extensions and retention, as appropriate. In addition the Director of Recruitment will develop an annual recruiting plan including but not limited to candidate flow, RNs hired and advertising costs.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, or any related area; prefer PHR certification.

• Minimum 7+ year’s experience in recruiting in healthcare-related field with professional services environment or healthcare-related organization.

• Proven experience leading recruiting strategy, with a strong acumen for developing budgets and proficiency working with multiple e-recruiting systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.

• Need to have a keen sense of the Parento Principle (80/20 rule), in order to weed out interesting projects/initiatives from substantive initiatives. 

• Extensive knowledge of the healthcare environment – from a conceptual framework, as well as projecting trends that will affect the organizations and individuals.

• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, process- and procedure-driven.

• Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and St. David’s “Patients First” safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.

• Effective facilitator and team player with collaborative style and expertise in working with multiple teams and individuals for the good of the whole.

• Strong organizational thinking with strong follow-through and the ability to multi- task.

• Strategic thinking in developing and implementing recruitment strategies that readily identify the salient issues and initiatives within the competitive market context and better position the company to grow and thrive.

• Must have ability to synthesize key issues and distill extensive information down to meaningful and concise applications. 

• Some travel required.

Principal Responsibilities

• Coordinates and prepares market-specific strategic plan and assists facility HR in development of their business plan.

• Supervise recruitment, facility marketing, advertising, media relations and external communication efforts for all SDHP facilities.

• Develop, evaluate, recommend and pursue new business or sourcing strategy opportunities that meet customer needs and enhance SDHP strategic position in the market.

• Identify possibilities for partnerships, affiliations or alliances that help SDHP achieve its strategic recruitment objectives.

• Support all lines of candidate sourcing across the healthcare disciplines to develop a synthesized network.

• Ensure collaborative efforts at the college and grant levels to maximize the pipeline of graduating professionals.

• Provide necessary communication documents or expertise for corporate, group or division requests.

• Provide support to HCA Corporate and Central Group on special projects.

• Maintain compliance in all areas required by HCA.
