LOCATION: Green Bay campus

STANDARD HOURS: Primarily will work Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; with flexibility required to include other evening and weekend hours as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Learning is the Chief Academic Officer of the college, providing leadership that fosters and creates an environment that is passionate about ensuring student access and success while meeting and exceeding community, economic, and workforce development needs. NWTC fosters an evidenced based, collaborative, learning-centered culture that empowers faculty and staff to provide the learning and services needed by each student. As a member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President of Learning fosters creativity and innovation as well as contributes broad institutional perspectives and participation in decision making supporting the College’s mission, vision, and goals.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Serves as Chief Academic Officer, responsible for the development and evaluation of instructional programming, instructional staff and curriculum that provides flexible delivery, accessibility and success for learners throughout the District.

• Serves as a member of the President’s Executive Leadership Team and participates in the development of the College’s vision, strategic directions and metrics, annual budget and college and divisional plans of action.

• Oversees the operational leadership of the Marinette and Sturgeon Bay campuses, the five Regional Learning Centers, four specialty locations, as well as the K12 early college academies and courses within the district.

• Implements the goals of a learning college by ensuring academic integrity of all learning programs, excellence in teaching, and inspired collegiality.

• Inspires others through the communication of a compelling vision stated in a way that helps others understand the importance of their contributions.

• Promotes a culture of customer service, accountability, collaboration, evidence based decision making, transparency, and innovation.

• Develops a wide range of partnerships and collaborative initiatives with external stakeholders to advance the economic strength of the region, bring visibility to the role of the College, and provide added benefits to constituents. Serves as a key College liaison to area school districts, other colleges and universities, business, industry, and various public agencies.

• Routinely engages with business and industry, governmental agencies, and community-based organizations to identify trends and anticipate industry training needs.

• Drives student success through the value of diversity by recognizing personal biases, adapting to culturally diverse situations, and demonstrating a commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful interactions with persons of diverse ethnic, cultural, social-economic, or educational backgrounds.

• Facilitates and administers the processes necessary to maintain college accreditation with external agencies.

• Evaluates instructional effectiveness against measurable student success indicators.

• Is prepared to assume "interim" or temporary presidential duties in the unexpected absence of the college president.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Doctorate Degree required

Experience: Minimum of seven years of demonstrated strong, effective leadership in an educational setting and a minimum of five years teaching experience.
