Commercial Electric and Gas Service Process

1. Customer submits complete application with all required attachments electronically to ce@ or hardcopy at either of the following office locations: 17281 N. Green Mountain Rd., San Antonio, TX 78247 7814 S. Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78224

2. Information Development Specialist (IDS) contacts customer to acknowledge receipt of completed application package and request missing information if needed. IDS processes completed application package and forwards to the appropriate CPS Energy design team.

3. CPS Energy designer contacts customer and provides standard design and construction durations for requested work, establishes a requested completion date and schedule/execute a pre-design meeting, and discusses customer need by date.

4. Customer provides any easements required by CPS Energy.

5. CPS Energy provides customer the design of requested electric and/or gas service along with any invoice.

6. Upon receipt of invoice, customer remits payment for requested services. Payment may be made by mail, in person at any customer service center or electronically via Automated Clearing House (ACH).

7. For extensive overhead line extensions on private property, customer must mark designated pole locations and easements as defined by CPS Energy design. Additional design and construction time will be required for all line extensions greater than 5 poles.

8. Once payment is made, pole locations are staked, necessary permits released, easements granted, and site is cleared. CPS Energy will begin overhead construction.

9. For overhead to underground service and pad mount transformer installation, customer forms up duct bank and slab and calls 353-3373 to schedule CPS Energy inspection. An inspection with 24hr notice is required for each step during the duct bank installation. Upon inspector's final approval, customer notifies Cps Energy designer that the site has met all customer responsible requirements and is ready for CPS Energy to run service and meter to site. The site should have a complete meter loop, transformers, conduits and power cables on the load side of the meter can.

Note: CPS Energy will not commence construction if address and construction stakes are not visible or if site is not accessible to CPS Energy vehicles and equipment.
