CREATE A CONTINENT-GEOGRAPHY PROJECT

CREATE A CONTINENT-GEOGRAPHY PROJECT

Use your creativity to create a continent that is unique. It should have a theme and a matching name. For example, a continent shaped like a whale can be called “Whale Land.” (See examples of Whale Land and Mickey Mouse Land)

Your map must have a compass rose, a scale, a legend with symbols for cities and geographic features, 5 principal cities, and 15 different geographic (natural) features of the many you have learned about. Additionally latitude and longitude lines must be labeled. (Including 0 degrees latitude for the Equator, 0 degrees longitude for the Prime Meridian, and East/West directions)

Also, you will write a paragraph introducing your continent. This paragraph should include how it formed.

Continents must not be bigger than ¼ poster paper.

All continents must be neat and in color with all words written in ink or marker. NO PENCIL.

There is a rubric for you do use as a checklist before you hand it in. If you have all components, you will receive a perfect score of 185 points.

Good luck and have fun!
