Hamlet (online version):

Partner Assignment: In your group, choose one of the projects below. You will present your project to the class.

1) Create a scrapbook (with explanatory notes) of Hamlet’s life based on clues given in the play. Use pictures and items that would be important to Hamlet. The scrapbook must be at least 15 pages long.

2) Make an illustrated timeline of events in the play; make sure your timeline includes all the major events with a two sentence description and small picture or clipping describing each event.

3) Pick a character from Hamlet and pick a character from any other novel that we have read this year. Describe a meeting between the two of them (where and when and how it would take place) and write forty lines of dialogue between them. You will perform this in front of the class.

4) Write and illustrate (you can use cut-outs) a full children’s book telling the story of Hamlet – with a cover.

5) Condense each act of Hamlet into 2 minutes worth of dialogue and acting. You will create a script for each act. You must video your presentation and have it prepared to view in class.

6) Create a soundtrack for Hamlet. Choose five (school appropriate) songs and burn them to your I-Pod or a CD. For each song you must explain where you would insert it, and why you chose each song. This portion of the assignment must be typed and detailed. You must also include a copy of the lyrics for each song. A clip of each song will be played and you will be required to explain to the class where you would insert each song and why you chose each song.

7) Create your own form of Cliff’s Notes for the entire play. You will need to create a summary for each scene (in your own words) as well an analysis to deeper explain each scene.

8) Memorize and act out one of the major soliloquies in the play. You should dress the part for you presentation and have it memorized. (This is an individual assignment.)
