Topics include the understanding of cultural and ethical issues; the influence of social, political and economic systems; the impact of environmental and technological issues in the global business environment.Course Objective:To understand and apply knowledge of the following:1.The external forces underlying the global transformation of organizations and economic systems, as well as the social / political / economic consequences of globalization.2.Ethical dilemmas and problems of cultural relativism furthered by business operating in a global environment – the effect on decisions and leadership.3.The development of accuracy, analysis and judgment, useful to managers to make decisions and take action in the global marketplace.4.Increased sensitivity to the bias as well as the limitations of global business.Grading Policy:Your grade will result from the following: you are to write one (1) comprehensive essay, take part in one (1) writing workshop, write three (3) article summaries, write one (1) short personal bio essay, as well as one (1) essay draft; you will participate in two team presentations and you will determine the team-participation scores for your teammates; you must complete twelve (12) MindTap assignments; you will take three (3) exams. There is no final exam. A make-up exam is allowed for an excused absence, but must be arranged within 5 days of the original exam date; no exceptions.
