Your Roadmap to Becoming an Authorized Training Center

Sage Software believes that effective training is a critical component of customer satisfaction and retention. Making training readily accessible to every customer who uses our products is not only a primary goal at Sage Software, but also the main objective of the Sage Software Authorized Training Center (ATC) Program.

Before submitting the Application section of this document, applicants should review the entire document to determine if this program is aligned with their company’s business goals.

Who Can Apply

A Sage Software business partner can apply for consideration in the ATC program provided they meet the following criteria:

▪ Company has been authorized by Sage Software for more than one year

▪ Company has met the certification requirements for the product(s) their ATC will teach

▪ Company operates a training facility that meets Sage Software requirements

▪ Company has a Certified Trainer on staff that is certified to teach the course(s) offered

The Sage Software Authorized Training Center program is an annual program that runs from February 1 to January 31.

If you have multiple training locations, each location must apply as an Authorized Training Center and be evaluated separately.

Benefits

The following benefits are provided to Authorized Training Centers:

▪ Your schedule of Sage-certified courses listed on Sage Software University

▪ Manage student registrations, course evaluations and reports through Sage Software University

▪ Receive training referrals for Sage Software certified training courses

▪ Access to the ATC Web site for:

▪ ATC logos for promotional use

▪ Samples of ATC marketing collateral

▪ Classroom presentations and data files

▪ ATC award guidelines

▪ Class templates

▪ Invitation to the annual ATC conference

▪ An ATC plaque for display in your office or training center

Requirements

This section outlines the requirements to become and maintain a Sage Authorized Training Center.

General Conditions and Requirements

1. Adhere to all requirements and conditions as stated in the ATC contract.

2. Without the prior written consent of Sage Software, Authorized Training Centers shall not: Either directly before, during or after classroom activities as an ATC, sell or solicit for sale the following related to Sage Software: product sales, consulting, product support, or non-classroom training services. All requests for services must be submitted in writing using the ATC Lead Referral Form or ATC Reseller or Record Form.

3. Remain a Sage Software business partner in good standing.

4. Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 ATCs only: apply and maintain continuing professional education (CPE) sponsorship with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

5. Changes to the following areas must be submitted for approval at least eight weeks in advance:

▪ Class cancellation policy

▪ Training facility location

▪ Trainer and/or student’s computer hardware

▪ Classroom projection system

▪ Size of the classroom or number of students per classroom

▪ Training URL address

▪ Certified trainer personnel

6. Participate in at least 50% of the ATC quarterly conference calls.

7. Two weeks prior to your scheduled production date, submit for review and approval all training marketing materials to: atc.na@

8. Employ at least one certified trainer.

7 Conduct all Sage Software certified training classes in an approved classroom by a certified trainer using certified course curriculum.

8. ATCs may purchase certified-student course curriculum for classes not taught in their approved classrooms. However, manual sign-in sheets, attendance sheets, and student evaluations must be completed and submitted monthly. ATCs may not purchase certified-student course curriculum for the purpose of resale or for any other purpose except for the use in conducting training.

9. All training referrals received as a result of becoming an ATC, marketing endeavors developed by or in conjunction with Sage Software, or through word-of-mouth, must be taught by a certified trainer using Sage Software certified-student course curriculum.

10. If Sage Software has not developed curriculum for a particular application, you may develop your own curriculum. If doing so, clearly differentiate your own curriculum and class offerings from Sage Software certified-student course curriculum and certified training classes.

11. Differentiate classes advertised and conducted by a non-certified trainer or a certified trainer, who is not certified for a particular application from Sage Software certified training classes.

Equipment Requirements

The following are minimum Sage Software ATC classroom requirements.

Student Systems

All students must have their own workstation with Internet access, Each student’s workstation must meet or exceed Sage Software’s minimum hardware requirements for the Sage product you are authorized to teach as outlined in the Sage Software documentation.

Trainer Systems

Each classroom must have one workstation with Internet access for the trainer. The trainer’s workstation must be connected to an overhead projector that projects objects onto a screen or LCD panel. Projecting onto a classroom wall is not acceptable. The trainer’s workstation must meet or exceed Sage Software’s minimum hardware requirements for the Sage product you are authorized to teach as specified in the Sage Software documentation.

Note: Student and trainer workstation requirements may vary depending on the class being offered. Access to the classroom setup guidelines will be available upon ATC approval.

Each classroom must meet the following requirements:

▪ A professional classroom environment with computer tables, ergonomic seating, adequate lighting, temperature control and an area for the trainer’s podium or table. Computer cables should be run safely so they are out of walkways and aisles.

▪ Seating for a minimum of six students plus a trainer’s area. Each student and trainer must have their own workstation with an Internet connection.

▪ Classroom must be a minimum of 350 square feet. Each student must have a minimum of 50 square feet and 50 square feet for the trainer’s podium/desk.

▪ An overhead projection system on a table or mounted on the ceiling that can project onto a screen. Another option is an LCD screen or 33” or larger monitor. If using an LCD screen, you must use a high-intensity projector and non-glare screen with a minimum six-foot diagonal measurement

▪ One laser printer (not required for all classes)

▪ Ability to control the classroom lighting for various activities and temperature.

▪ A white board (minimum of six square feet) or flip chart and markers

Each training facility must meet the following additional requirements:

▪ Handicapped accessible

▪ Food and beverages for students during breaks unless there is a food establishment within a short walking distance of the classroom

▪ Lunches served on premise unless there are restaurants within a short walking distance of the facility

Classroom Operation Requirements

1. Provide all students with a Sage Software training class certificate at the completion of course.

2. Maintain a training schedule of upcoming courses on the Sage University Web site.

3. Confirm that all known student registrations are in the ViewCentral course registration database prior to course commencement.

4. After each class, ensure that all students complete the online Student Evaluation from the Sage University Web site.

5. After each class, confirm student attendance in ViewCentral as outlined in the ATC ViewCentral Process Manual.

6. Provide by fax or mail to Sage Software student sign-in sheets and proof of prerequisite course completions (if applicable) for Sage Software certified training classes. You must submit these forms within 10 days after the end of each month.

Steps to become an Authorized Training Center

Step 1: Read the ATC Program Guide and Application Form

Step 2: Submit a completed ATC Application Form (one per location) along with the following information:

▪ A current training business plan including training center goals, marketing strategy and revenue forecast

▪ Digital photographs of each classroom, student break room and lunch area (if applicable), and student reception area

▪ A current training class schedule (if applicable), outlining all offerings, pricing and course descriptions

▪ Photocopies of current advertising and/or promotional materials (if applicable) related to training services

▪ Your written class cancellation policy

▪ At least five letters of recommendation from former students who can attest to the quality of the training center and staff

▪ Local Web site address with training offerings outlined (for review and approval)

Step 3: Obtain Authorized Training Center Approval from Sage Software

To obtain ATC approval, applicants must meet the requirements as outlined in this document. When evaluating ATC applications, Sage considers the number of potential students in your geographic area as well as the proximity to other Sage Software ATCs. If you receive approval to become an ATC, you will be asked to review and sign the Sage ATC Agreement and submit the appropriate fees for the product(s) you will be teaching.

Step 4: Remit a completed ATC Agreement along with the appropriate fees. Below are the annual Authorized Training Center Fees by product line. On February 1 of each year, ATCs are subject to an annual renewal fee equal to the amount listed above.

• Authorized Training Centers who are authorized for two products will receive a 15% discount on each product.

• Authorized Training Centers authorized for three or more products will receive a 35% discount divided equally among all products.

Note: During the renewal period, you may be asked to resubmit some or all of the items outlined in step two to maintain training center quality. The Initial ATC Authorization fee is subject to change without notice. If at any time throughout the year, you move your training center to a new location, or change the room size or equipment, you must complete the ATC Application and submit to Sage for approval.
