RSS
An RSS feed is a syndicated news feed in an XML format to which you can subscribe.
What is a news feed reader? A news feed reader, also known as a news aggregator, is software that lets you subscribe to RSS feeds.
If you have Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7, the RSS feeds will appear in your `Favorites' button.
Using an RSS feed reader allows you to be alerted when new articles on the topics you're interested in, table of contents of new issues to your Ebsco Journals are available.
RSS Feeds from subject searches in Ebsco databases
The services are free.
To access this database go to:
Users must register in order to take advantage of these services:
1. Click on Sign in 2. Go to the Advanced Search page. 3. Do a subject search. 4. Click on "Search History/Alerts"
5. *Your search history will appear
6. Select the search you would like to save 7. Click on Save searches/alerts
Fill out the form, note the following options:
1. In the save search as section: Alert 2. In the email properties section:

3. Once all relevant areas of the form have been filled out, click on `save'.
4. Click on continue. 5. You will then get an email with the link to paste or drag into your RSS
feeder. 6. OR paste in the "syndicated feed" URL into the "add favorites" TAB in
IE7 7. To unsubscribe, right click on the journal title under `favorites' in IE and
`delete'
RSS Feeds from Ebsco Journals
To get RSS feeds from specific EBSCO journals, you will need to go into individual databases separately: Academic Search, Business Source Complete, MEDLINE, Sport Discus, PsycINFO and Cinahl. For the medical databases, you may need to save the journal as a subject search to activate the RSS feed ? see below
1. Click on publications Choose your publication either by typing in the title or browsing the list.
2. Note- the publication must be a current title. 3. Once the title and issues appear, click on `Alert'. 4. Fill out the form as above. 5. You will then get an email with the link. 6. OR paste in the "syndicated feed" URL into the "add favorites" TAB in
IE7 7. To unsubscribe, right click on the journal title under `favorites' in IE and
`delete'
For Ebsco databases that do not have an alert link next to the publication:

1. Sign in. 2. Go to Publications. 3. Choose a publication and click on it. 4. You will notice that there is a long title and an abbreviated title in
square brackets: Arthritis care and research: the official journal of the Arthritis Health Professions Association [Arthritis Care Res] NLMUID: 8809082 5. Copy the abbreviated title 6. Click on advanced search 7. Enter the name of the journal in quotation marks with the filed code journal title in front:JN "Arthritis Care Res" 8. Click on search 9. Click on search history/alerts
10. Follow instructions as for above (on page 1) after the asterisk *
