POSITION DESCRIPTION: DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AND MARKETING

1.00 GENERAL STATEMENT

1.01 Position Scope

a. The Director of Admissions and Marketing is directly responsible for recruiting students to Allen County Community College and is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the College.

b. The Director will participate in the formation of general college policies as a member of the Student Affairs Council and through assignment on standing institutional committees, task forces, and other groups appointed by the President.

2.00 SPECIFIC STATEMENTS

2.01 Position Function and Category

a. Reporting Relationship: Vice President for Student Affairs

b. Function/Category of Position: Student Affairs/Management Supervisor

c. Length of Contract: 12 months (July 1 – June 30 annually)

d. Salary Category: IV

2.02 Supervision

a. Supervision Received: The Director reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs.

b. Supervision Exercised: The Director supervises all Admissions Counselors at all locations, the Public Relations Coordinator, support staff, and student staff.

2.03 Key Areas of Responsibility

Admissions:

a. Develop an annual recruiting plan and oversee the implementation of this plan.

b. Determine which KACRAO College Planning Conferences to attend and develop schedule for coverage.

c. Develop specialized recruitment plans for specific programs, modalities, and student populations.

d. Manage the pool of prospective students received from inquiries, visits, test score submissions, and other recruitment activities. Develop a system of communication with prospective student to encourage matriculation to the College.

e. Oversee the recruitment efforts of other Allen departments, including athletics, activities, academic divisions, as well as locations and modalities.

f. Design, plan, and implement at least one major recruiting event each semester (i.e., Senior Day, New Student Enrollment, Open Houses, etc.) for both traditional and non-traditional students.

g. Coordinate prospective student visits to the Allen campuses.

h. Submit a monthly recruitment report to the Vice President for Student Affairs who will share the report with the President’s Council and the Board of Trustees.

i. Provide training and professional development for professional and para-professional staff.

j. Select and train Student Ambassadors to assist with admissions and recruitment activities.

k. Perform other admissions duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Marketing:

a. Develop and implement the marketing plan for the college.

b. Chair the Marketing Committee and use their input for marketing decisions.

c. Determine the advertising needs of the college and oversee the implementation of all advertising including print, radio, television, direct mail, billboard, online, etc.

d. Supervise the Public Relations Coordinator in the development and maintenance of the college website.

e. Manage online marketing efforts including advertising and social media.

f. Manage the development of recruiting materials, brochures, handouts, etc.

g. Perform other marketing duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.
