The District will contribute $6,150 towards the (1) one or two (2) party medical, dental, and vision plans. How much do the benefits cost?The early retiree benefits (age 55-65) are the same costs as the active employees. Please see the District website usd.k12.ca.us - Go to the Benefit Department and review the Retiree Information tab for current premium and plan information.When do my retiree benefits begin?After the Board of Trustees approves your retirement, you will receive an insurance packet from the benefits department to confirm your plan choices. The insurance plans mirror the plans offered to active employees. The benefits begin the first of the month following your retirement.What happens if the cost for my health insurance exceeds the current District contribution level?The retiree is responsible to pay the additional amount above the contribution level on a tenthly basis (skipping July and August).How do I make payments?You will receive an automatic withdrawal enrollment form that allows the District to automatically withdraw funds directly from your bank account on the 5th of every month (skipping July and August).Can I continue my vision plan?Yes, until age 65 or Medicare eligible.Can I continue the District 45k Group Term Life Insurance Plan?Yes.
