Christmas Show 27th December: We raised ?306 for the NI Children’s Hospice, many thanks to all that volunteered their help on the day, the weather was dreadful but we all had a great time. Thank you also to all those that braved the weather and competed and had a fun day. A cheque will be presented to this charity on the 27th January at Mackenzies. I would like a few members who competed or helped at this competition to present this, text Meg 07917094759 if you can do this.Crosskennan Winter Appeal: Urgent help needed to keep the 180+ horses and ponies fed over winter. They are looking for any donations in the way of money via their website, amazon etc or even in bedding, food, old rugs and anything you can think of. We thought as a club it would be great to raise the welfare plight issue with our young members that there are many horses and ponies that need foster homes, food or even volunteer help over the hard winter months. As a club we would like to be a drop off point for any donations from our members and parents and do a single drop off in a few weeks’ time. This ideally would be done with a few members who would like to come out and see firsthand the plight of these wonderful animals that have been neglected and forgotten. Please if you can even spare a bag of meal, a bale of hay or anything horsey drop them off with Meg at forthcoming rallies or out at Graham’s. I really would like to see us help them out if we can.PARENT NIGHT:This is to be held on the Friday the 23rd January at Unit 8 ‘The Arches’, Randalstown. This is a great opportunity for all parents to come and speak to members of each discipline, to question the committee members on the vision and future of the club and to gain insight into upcoming events and generally a great get together for us all. It also is a great forum to make suggestions on how to improve our club. Starts at 7.30pm, please all try and come and help us continue with the great tradition of a family friendly, open and helpful club. Tea & Coffee and buns provided. Have your questions at the ready.HAT TAGS:All riding hats will need new hat tags applied this year, old tags will be removed by George or Meg and new ones applied if they pass the Pony Club standards. They will be white tags and you will not be able to compete or join rallies if these are not replaced this year. Standards are available on the Pony Club UK website as the old BSE kitemarks are no longer the benchmark standards. On a final note thank you to everyone who helped make last year so successful and relatively stress free and here’s to a great New Year. We also would like to say a massive thank you to Mary O’Connell who has now retired as secretary and thank her for the massive amount of hard work and dedication she has put into the branch over the years. She will be sorely missed and I am sure many mistakes will be made on my behalf through the year, please have patience and don’t hesitate to ring and ask if the information isn’t there for you to find. Many ThanksMeg RodgersDATES FOR YOUR DIARY201523rd January 2015Parents NightUnit 8 The Arches/Randalstown- 7.30pm.22nd JanSJ Dengie Qualifier and training nightMackenzies- 6.30pm x-poles onwards25th JanTetrathlon training dayArds Leisure Centre30th Jan 2015Dengie Dressage qualifier and practice nightGraham’s- all welcome31 January 2015Membership Renewal due1st FebGames Training Graham’s6th Feb & 20th FebSJ Dengie Qualifier and training nightConnell Hill- 6.30 x-poles onwards27 February 2015Area QuizIveagh28th FebruaryDengie Dressage FinalRDA Omagh (tbc)7th MarchDengie SJ FinalPortmore3 April 2015Dengie Championship SJWarwickshire4 April 2015Denige Champs DressageWarwickshire11 April 2015Annual Open Two PhaseLaurelview13-17 MayRoyal Windsor Horse Show15 May 2015Mounted GamesBalmoral30 May 2015Area GamesNorth Down27 June 2015Area EnduranceDownpatrick10-11 JulyMounted Games – ZonesScotland26 July 2015Area EventingSeskinore - Cloncaw7/8 AugustRDS Combined TrainingDublin13-16 AugustTetrathlon ChampionshipsBishop Burton21-25 AugustPony Club ChampionshipsChomondeleyHome ChampionshipsHosted by Mid AntrimOther dates for Area Competitions will be added when they are confirmed. The above dates are subject to change, please keep checking for any changes or updates throughout the year.
