Problem: Attempting to send PEIMS EDIT+ or weekly PET files to TEA result is the file becoming hung in a “Transferring” Status. Explanation: Microsoft has enhanced security protections in its Internet Explorer product in recent years, which has had an impact on the EDIT+ application. Beginning with Internet Explorer 8, EDIT+ users must identify the TEA web servers in their Internet options security Trusted Sites.Additionally, Edit+ Send file process uses Microsoft’s .NET Framework client software. The Send file process was based on .NET Framework client version 2.0. More recent versions (3.5, 4.0, 4.5,..) also require the application of a patch supplied by TEA which allows EDIT+ to work with the newer versions. Solution:Download and install the TEA provided Alternate Security Patch as described below. This patch has been updated as of April 7, 2014 to resolve the Send file issue regardless of level of Internet Explorer (8, 9, 10, 11) or .NET Framework Client Profile (3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 4.5.1, …).During the patch installation, it will prompt the installer to choose whether the Level of Internet Explorer to be used is the 32 bit or 64 bit version. Note that some versions of Windows come with both IE versions installed. The 32 bit version is default for Windows 7, the 64- bit version is default for Windows 8. If you have any doubts as to which version of Internet Explorer you are using, with Internet Explorer running, open the Task Manager (ALT+CTRL+DELETE), select Applications:64-bit IE will appear as iexplore.exe.32-bit IE will appear as iexplore.exe *32.You can also install the patch twice selecting 32-bit once and again selecting 64-bit.This patch must be installed by someone logged into the PC as Administrator. Installer should carefully follow the detailed instructions below.EDIT+ Users who have recently upgraded the PCs used to access EDIT+ may experience a Browser Detection error when logging in to EDIT+ or may not be able to send a PEIMS or PET file to TEA once they are logged in. Note that the upgrades to Internet Explorer on your PC may occur without your knowledge, so if you suddenly experience one of these issues, that is the likely cause. The following instructions will help you deal with both of these issues. Browser Detection ErrorSome Internet Explorer users may receive the following Browser Detection Message when attempting to log into EDIT+ for the first time after a new version of Internet Explorer is installed, or if they had previously been in EDIT+ and were working in a Prior Year Collection. If so, you need to set your PC to use Compatibility View Mode, as follows; In your browser tools settings select the Compatibility View Settings; then check the box to display all websites in Compatibility view.?lefttopRetry logging into EDIT+, then proceed to page 15 and follow the instructions to test whether you can successfully send a file to TEA. If that test fails, return to page 5 and follow the instructions to install the Alternate Security Patch.Unable to Send PEIMS Collection or PET fileEDIT+ users attempting to send a PEIMS collection file or PET file after upgrading their PCs Internet Explorer version and/or upgrading to a 64-bit PC will need to install the patch described below if their send file attempts are failing or files are hanging in a “Transferring” state. If the user does NOT see file transferring progress bar, they should navigate to the Progress Monitor page, Abort file and proceed to the software Download steps below. Some users may receive the following message; Users who have the above configuration and have already installed the patch who are not having Send file issues do not need to reapply the patch. TEA has updated the Alternate Security Patch for Microsoft .NET Framework (2.0 and higher) located on the EDIT+ software download page linked from the home page. The Patch contains two elements, a trusted sites registry patch which identifies the TEA file servers to the user’s PC security settings as “trusted” sites, and a specific registry patch for Microsoft .NET Framework Client for versions 2.0 or higher. When the user downloads the Patch from the EDIT+ software download page and initiates the installation process, it will prompt the user for the Internet Explorer level ( 32-bit or 64-bit). It will then install the appropriate versions of the patches. Detailed instructions with screen shots are included on the following pages to assist users in installing the Patch. Note: The patch should be applied based on the version of Internet Explorer the user is running, not the PC hardware capability. The default IE that is started from the Desktop is 32 bit, so if this is what the user intends to run, apply the patch responding 32 bit to the prompt.Note: The installer must be logged into the PC with administrator rights on the PC in order to execute this Patch.
