Demographics Summary

Bess Race Elementary is located in the heart of Crowley, Texas. The school was the original K-12 campus for the district, and now stands as one of 10 elementary campuses. The school was originally located at 512 Peach Street, but has been in the current location on South Heights going on 10 years now. Today, approximately 54% of students qualify as economically disadvantaged. Roughly 5% are English Language Learners. The campus hovers around 640 students overall in grades EE-4th grades. The ethnic breakdown is approximately 21% African American, 27% Hispanic, 43% White, 7% More than 2 Races, and 1% Other.

School Culture and Climate Summary

Bess Race Elementary is an established campus with little turnover. Results on the most recent Teacher Climate Survey indicated favorable responses in most areas. The campus has a strong Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) in place to teach students proper behavior, and ways to be a positive influence at our school and in the community. The campus has a close partnership with The Crowley House of Hope, Kids Hope Mentoring through First Baptist Church of Crowley, and the Ready, Set, Teach Program at the BRJ CTE Center.
