DIMENSION/FUNCTIONUnder the direction of the President, the Chief Financial Officer is expected to positively contribute to the strategic direction of the company, leading to profitable share growth. This position is responsible for managing Finance & Accounting, Customer Support, and Information Technology teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and will be expanded to include other responsibilities as necessary.Collaborate with the Leadership Team, and other key departments, to define both short term and long term strategy and drive profitable, differentiated market-share growth. Initiate and cultivate relationships with industry players and key strategic partners, to generate new business opportunities and strengthen partnerships.Supervise and provide direction to the Finance & Accounting team, including control design and implementation, monthly reporting, fiscal year-end audit, and essential financial planning and analysis. Provide relevant, timely and accurate financial analysis and insight to support key decision makers. Own the company’s treasury function, including cash management, cash flow projections, developing relationships with lenders to secure capital for ongoing needs, and debt covenants compliance. Serve as the company’s first point of contact for all legal matters, including the review of material contracts such as debt agreements, technology licenses, and other commercial agreements. Develop relationships with company’s legal counsel for various commercial and employment matters as required. Develop and deploy the company’s risk management strategy, including policies to mitigate commercial, property, liability, and workers compensation risks. Provide support to the Information Technology team to identify opportunities to optimize the operational performance and security of the company’s IT infrastructure, network, and management information systems. Provide oversight to Customer Support, including supervision of order entry and customer billing and administration of effective sales programs. Play an active role in developing credit policies, making credit decisions, and periodically assist in the collection of outstanding debts. Travel to frequent sales meetings to understand the business, develop relationships, identify potential opportunities, interpret competitive dynamics, and support field sales staff and seed rep network. Evaluate the department structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.Work closely with the Human Resources team and as a senior leader contribute to initiatives related to hiring, talent development, performance management, compensation and benefits, safety training and compliance. Promote collaboration and a positive, professional work environment. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/MEASUREMENTAn employee’s performance will be measured by his/her contribution in meeting the overall expectations of the role as well as the expectations in relation to the Company’s strategic plan.QUALIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Education:Bachelor’s Degree, in Accounting or related field; CPA required; Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance & admin roleMinimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership position KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Strong business and management principles relating to strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources. Understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial info. Identifying complex problems and reviewing information to evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of business information systems, computers, and applications. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits.Familiarity with sales and marketing principles including determining price, marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques. Ability to manage projects, implement plans, monitor progress, meet deadlines, and control budget. Strong motivational and leadership abilities.
