Westby FFA Program of Activities 2008-2009

Dates:

All officers are required to:

• Have official dress

• Attend the Summer FFA Officer Training Retreat

• Attend Sectional Leadership Workshop

• Attend ALL chapter officer meetings

• Attend ALL monthly chapter meetings

• Be a role model and a leader for all FFA members and Westby High School students

o Ex. Language, attitude, grades, etc.

• Be active members of the Executive Committee, whose duties include:

o Hog Roast/ Open House

o FFA Week

o Banquet

o Food For America

President: Jennifer Parker

• Preside over and conduct all meetings

• Call special meetings as needed

• Coordinate chapter efforts by keeping in touch with other officers, the members, and the advisors

• Follow up on chapter activities

• Tubing/Sledding at Fort McCoy

• Highway Clean-Up

• Daily Activities for FFA Week

• Organic Pancake Breakfast

• National Chapter Award

Vice President: Ben Hoff

• Preside at meetings in the absence of our President

• Be prepared to assume the duties and responsibilities of the President if needed

• Barnball/ Dodgeball

• Chicken Q

Student Advisor: Evan Peters

• Preside at meetings in the absence of our Vice President and President

• Be prepared to assume the duties and responsibilities of the President if needed

• Fishing Tournament

• Big Buck Contest (Canned Food Drive)

• Senior Trip

Secretary: Carley Peters

• Prepare and read minutes at the meetings

• Keep the permanent record of the number of chapter members

• Read communications at meetings

• Keep an accurate membership roll

• Pep Rally during FFA Week

• In charge of constructing the thank-you notes as needed

Treasurer: Jake Helgeson

• Receive and monitor chapter funds

• Keep the financial records of the chapter

• Assist in collecting state and national dues

• Give a financial report at monthly FFA meetings

• Keep the fundraiser financial record and other expenses

• Fruit Sales

• Malt Machine

• Plant Sales

Reporter: Janessa Parker

• Prepare press releases

• Help the profile staff prepare and proofread articles on the chapter

• Daily Activities for FFA Week

• Display Cases

• Promotion of FFA (Promote monthly t-shirt day on Meeting days)

Sentinel: Carrie Jo Leum

• Set up the room and care for the chapter equipment

• In charge of meeting door prizes

• Assist the secretary in keeping the membership roll

• Pep Rally during FFA Week

• Donkey Ball

Advisor: Mr. Papendorf

• Advise from time to time, as the need arises

• Organizer/Advisor for Workshops (SLW, Half-Time, FIRE…)

• Coach/Advisor for CDE’s (Speaking, Judging Contests)

• Advisor for Awards and Degrees (Proficiency Awards, State/American Degrees)
