Valid passport, full UK car driving required.Right to work:Must have the right to work in the UKCOMMISSION BACKGROUNDThe Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) honours the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring they will never be forgotten. Our work commemorates the war dead, from building and maintaining our cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries and territories to preserving our extensive records and archives. Our values and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were over 100 years ago.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLEGeneralOwnership of CWGC’s digital strategy, as well as that of its charity, Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF), to ensure the Organisation makes optimum use of all digital platformsManage the digital team across a variety of disciplines, including web design, digital content, search engine optimisation, user experience, mobile optimisation and technical project managementManage the Digital budget, regularly reforecasting accurately for transparency on spend.Oversee website development and maintenance with the creation of a web development roadmap to enable the CWGC to meet key stakeholder need and to digitise business processes wherever possibleBuild and develop the CWGF Supporter scheme and e-Commerce portals within the website in line with the CWGF requirementsCollaborate as appropriate with external developers and agenciesWork closely with the Head of Marketing to improve the customer focus of all digital channels with engaging content and designResponsible for increasing audience and impact using digital platformsCollaborate with key CWGC staff and stakeholders to ensure the strategic and organisational priorities are met through the Organisation’s digital activitiesDrive the web analytics reporting agenda, defining tools and key performance metrics Continuously set goals, track metrics and conversation rates with the aim to constantly improve and optimise performanceWork with the Communications and Marketing teams to ensure, where possible, campaigns and initiatives can be leveraged for online usageWorks as an integrated member of the Information and Communications departmentManages the performance of the Digital team, including the setting and reviewing of their performance objectivesDefine, manage and deliver agreed projects, identifying and working with key stakeholders, ensuring plans are approved and projects are delivered in time and within budgetWork with relevant senior managers to regularly analyse and identify risksJob Functional KnowledgeMust have knowledge of how to run a website development roadmap and how to create an agile deployment plan alongside an external agencyMust have financial acumen to be able to budget and forecastMust have project management experience and be able to run multiple projects at the same time.Business ExpertiseMust be able to manage multiple stakeholders across the companyLeadershipMust be able to make tough decisions around prioritiesMust be able to support and inspire a teamProblem SolvingMust be able to think logically about problems and come up with solutions that are effective and efficientNature of ImpactDigital team – The team has a broad external and internal reach, connecting our members and followers to content, and reaching out to internal departments to support content creation and messagingWebsite – The “shop window” for CWGC to the outside world and strategically keyApp – A useful tool that will need ongoing updates but is popular among our audiencesOther digital projects – Several touchpoints around the Commission, you will be required to give support, advice or run new digital projectsArea of ImpactWhole business impact as well as external impactInterpersonal SkillsTeam leadershipDecisive but flexible Able to forge relationships across teams and channelsPERSON SPECIFICATIONEducation and KnowledgeEssentialEducated to degree level in a relevant discipline or relevant experience within a large organisation.
