Organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture

You are cordially invited to an exciting weekend for German instructors on Austrian culture and language, sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture. It will include presentations on and engagement with österreichische Landeskunde, Austrian art, use of Austrian Werbeclips on YouTube, Austrian films, work with Klischees in Sound of Music, writing activities, and a unit on the Wiener Kaffeehaus. 

You may receive a total of 23 CPDU credits for attending the three-day weekend.

The workshop is generously free of charge, but participants are responsible for full meals and housing. Also, please send a deposit of $50.00 to Northern Illinois AATG to reserve a spot in the program. The check or cash will be returned to you upon completion of the workshop.

We cannot guarantee housing. However, the Austrian Consulate has kindly offered to help facilitate making housing arrangements, based on availability, by offering a special discount to participants in the Knickerbocker Hotel for $159 per night (as opposed to $239 per night on this weekend) or double rooms for $189 (which would come to $94.50 per person + tax). Since the weekend is St Patrick’s Day weekend, rooms fill up quickly. If you would like to reserve a room in the Knickerbocker Hotel for Friday evening and Saturday evening, please let me know as soon as possible via email.
