Yesterday the East track teams had close losses to Chambersburg however there were some great performances. First place finishers were Aaron Arp, Amin Amin, Shyheim Brown, Antoine Perry, James McFarland, Luke Everidge, Kamar'e Patterson, and Quincy McIntyre. On the girls side Tatum Mosley, Debbie Niang, Brionne Harrison, Justyn Roberts, Zada Johnson, Makenna Krebs, and Kalara Paige

All students are reminded that once the 7:45 a.m. bell rings, the only entrance to the building is thru the doors located in the lobby. No other entrance is to be accessed.
All 18-year-old men must register for the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Besides being the law, failure to register will make you ineligible for federal grants and student loans as well as, many federal and state jobs. Registration forms are available in the guidance office or you may register online at . Attention ALL Staff and Students: the entry into the building during the morning will be through the main office doors, cafeteria, or gymnasium entrances. These doors will be locked until 7:00am, at which time, the doors will be unlocked. Doors are re-locked at 7:40am for the reminder of the day.

All students who drive to school must have a valid parking permit and must be parked in their assigned parking spaces. Cars that do not have a valid parking permit will be ticketed. Cars parked in the staff lot will be towed at the expense of the owner. Any student who needs to purchase a parking permit may stop in the office before or after school. You must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and the vehicles registration card, signed parent permission slip along with a check or cash for $25.00.

Attention seniors: Remember to check Family Connections weekly, as new scholarships are frequently being added! There are currently 70 active scholarships available to graduating seniors and application deadlines are quickly approaching. Please stop by the guidance office if you have any questions.
Any student 18 yrs. of age interested in working as a summer custodian please come to the main office for information. The pay is $10.00 an hour with a 40 hour work week.
Attention seniors: Your graduation project must be submitted to your advisor by April 29th. All seniors must complete a graduation project in order to graduate from East High. See your advisor or Mr. Andrechik if you have questions. Attention students taking the SATs in May or June: East High offers a free SAT prep class after-school on Mondays and Tuesdays in the library computer lab beginning April 4th through June 2nd. The online course allows you to work at your own pace and around your own schedule. Attendance is not mandatory, but you must attend the first session to receive important information. Sign up in the guidance office to reserve your spot.
SENIORS: Time is running out to place your order for your cap and gown for graduation. Please stop by the main office ASAP. The cost is just $24.12. At this time we are only accepting cash for your order.
The Panther Perk Scholarship Applications are now available to seniors. Students can pick up an application outside of Mrs. Black's room (G6) or in the guidance office. The deadline to submit an application is April 15th.
It’s that time again ---MAY DAY is fast approaching, April 29th. That means the Red Cross Club’s Annual Pie a teacher/administrator event!!! Do you want to pie a teacher or possibly Dr. Rawls in the face, then help the Red Cross Club reach their fundraising goal of $1,500.00. All donations will be given to the local chapter of American Red Cross. Raffle tickets to pie a teacher/administrator will be on sale during all lunches starting Wednesday April 13th….Through Friday April 22nd, or you can see a Red Cross club member to make a donation. Any questions please see Ms. J in room 209 or in main gym area.
Thank you, East High Students, Faculty and Staff. Our bake sale yesterday was an overwhelming success. Freshmen were particularly great and sophomores and juniors left little for the mighty seniors. We are so close to our donation total of $15,000 and hope that you will support our last bake sale on Wednesday, May 4, to put us over the top. Good Job!
Students who would like to participate in the Pan-Ram Field Day, formally known as Inspired Recreation Field Day, should stop by room 116 to pick up a registration form. Pan-Ram day is an annual event held at Central Dauphin High School. It is a day filled with fun events involving our students in our life skills, autistic support, and multiple disability support classes. The event will be held on Friday, May 13th and is open to 75 student volunteers. The deadline for registration is April 15th.
Sophomores: Were you born to be the best? It’s time to show your class pride with a class of 2018 t-shirt just in time for May Day! Place your orders during 10th grade lunches. Hurry, orders must be placed by 4-13-16 in order to receive the pre-sale discount. See your class officers or Mrs. Liptak in room 117 for more information.
We have many items in the main office lost and found these items will be donated to charity if not picked up by April 15th. Please check the lost and found in the cafeteria and the office.
In March, 32 Latin students took the National Latin Exam and competed with Latin students from all 50 states, as well as 19 foreign countries. The following students received awards for their scores: Carter Reynolds and Nathaniel Emmert received silver medals Abbi St. Clair, Cadyn Weidman, John Schreiber, and Brooke Kennedy received a “Magna cum Laude” distinction Lutfay Azim, Sabria Abdolos, and Samantha Dunn received a “Cum Laude” distinction. Overall 13 students scored higher than the national average for their level. Great job, everyone!
