AAA OHIO AUTO CLUBJOB DESCRIPTION2704364618TITLE: Driver Education Instructor and Coordinator (exempt)09/2020REPORTS TO: Traffic Safety Program Manager LOCATION: AAA Ohio Auto Club headquarters, Worthington, OHPURPOSE: To coordinate AAA’s Driver Education and Traffic Safety efforts by performing administrative duties, delivering classroom instruction and in-car training to teens and adults, compiling regular reports, working with collegues on program promotion, and participating in traffic safety events and presentations, as needed. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & EXPECTATIONS:Coordinate driver education courses by answering sales and service calls; processing student registrations, payments and refunds; following up with registrants; Preparing and transmitting student completion information and attendance records according to state regulations; and preparing, printing and mailing student certificates. Deliver driving theory classroom instruction to teens and adults using approved AAA curriculum and training material. Plan and prepare lessons to reach the desired learning outcomes. Engage students in learning and provide constructive feedback on student progress. Deliver practical in-car training to teens and adults, including in-car driving skills assessments where applicable. Provide constructive feedback on student progress. Maintain accurate student records pertaining to attendance, instruction and program status. Coordinate OAC’s AAA School Safety Patrol program by maintaining accurate mailing lists, creating and distributing quarterly newsletters, updating and distributing brochures, mailing annual enrollment packet, working with AAA National to ensure schools receive supplies, reviwing recognition applications and organizing recognition ceremonies for schools and families. Support OAC store locations, as it pertains to traffic safety and driver education. Coordinate with Distribution regarding relevant promotional products and create monthly retail updates outlining driver education and traffic safety promotions in OAC stores. Work with collegues to organize, implement and promote AAA’s School’s Open, Drive Carefully, Halloween Safety, Don’t Drive Intexticated and First a Friend then a Host campaings.Assist with and attend traffic safety events, as needed. Effectively manage schedule and submit reports and other required documents in a timely manner. Support Driver Education inquiries from other OAC departments. Keep direct supervisor informed of all critical aspects of job function. Immediately report incidents requiring manager oversight, including, but not limited to, misconduct, dissatisfied student/customer, vehicle/classroom damage or maintenance/repair needs, ect. Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and trainings to teach driver education courses for teens and older adults. Ensure compliance with current and forthcoming Public Affairs and Driver Education Quality Standards as set forth by National AAA. Valid, current Ohio driver’s license. Ten years of licensed driving and ability to pass a driving record check. Must possess and maintain an excellent driving record as demonstrated through no infractions or occurrences reported within the last three years including, but not limited to: DUI/DWI/OWI/OUI, refusing a drug/alcohol test, reckless driving, manslaughter, hit & run, eluding police, drag racing, license suspension, driving while under license suspension, leaving the scene or failure to report an accident, speeding, improper lane change, failure to yield, running a red light or stop sign, following to close, improper turn, seat belt violation, improper use of electronic devices, and/or non-moving violations such as parking, unpaid citations, vehicle defects or failure to maintain liability insurance in force.Extremely organized, detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task.Strong technical skills, specifically Microsoft Office products. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with audiences of all ages in-person, on the telephone and through written communication.Ability to meet deadlines and work within established budgets.Willingness to obtain necessary certifications. Must successfully complete AAA Driver Improvement Program instructor certification and applicable State driving instructor certification requirements as directed. Continued employment is contingent on maintaining AAA instructor certification and state certification.Willing to travel throughout AAA OAC territory and work additional hours if needed, including evenings and weekends. Willing to assist in other tasks, if needed. Knowledge or familiarity of OAC’s business lines and products, preferred. ................
