2018 Reflection Ball
The Reflection Ball is a fund-raising event for the communities of Sarpy and Cass counties. Each year the Foundation honors an individual or individuals who have contributed significantly to Sarpy and Cass counties, and the mission of the Foundation. The 2018 Reflection Award recipients are Bindy and Bob Frederick for their dedication to community service. Bob was born in Omaha and raised in Gretna. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1972. Bindy was born in Omaha and raised in Woodbine, IA. She graduated Medical Technology School at Bergan Mercy Hospital in 1974. Prior to retirement, Bob and Bindy worked for Pinnacle Bank and Bergan Mercy Hospital (aka Alegent Health and CHI), respectively. Bob and Bindy started their community service with the Gretna Jaycees and Jayceetts. Bob has been or is involved with the Papillion LaVista Monarch Athletic Booster Club, Papillion Area Lions Club, Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation, Nebraska Stroke Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Endowment Committee, Midlands Community Foundation and Project Harmony Service League, the Papillion Library Foundation, Pinnacle Bank Region One, Trinity Lutheran Church Council and Hops for Harmony. Bindy has been or is involved with the Papillion Junior Women's Club, Horizon Women's Club and the PapillionLaVista Schools Foundation and currently serves on the Midlands Community Foundation Reflection Ball Committee. Bob and Bindy have been married for 44 years and have two children, Jim who is married to Jill and has twin daughters, and Dan who is married to Danielle. The honorary chairs for the event are Kris and Steve Zey. Steve is President of Pinnacle Bank. He has been involved with Midlands Community Foundation, Papillion-LaVista Schools Foundation, and Sarpy YMCA. He is currently a member of the CHI Health Midlands Charitable Council, the Omaha Chamber BOSS Program, FPA of Nebraska and the Association for Corporate Growth Nebraska. Kris currently teaches 5th grade at Tara Heights Elementary in the Papillion LaVista Community School District. She has been active in Heartland Family Services Friends Guild, Food Bank for the Heartland and Midlands Community Foundation's Reflection Ball Committee. The net proceeds of the 2018 Reflection Ball will benefit the mission of Midlands Community Foundation.
