The Structure of the Enneagram

Your Enneagram Coach's

Abbreviated Discovering You Presentation Workbook

What does the word "Enneagram" mean?

There are 9 basic Enneagram Types

Ennea =______ Gram = diagram

There are 9 valid perspectives (or lenses) of everyday life circumstances.

The purpose I use the Enneagram as a coach

"For people to see themselves with astonishing clarity so they can break free from self-condemnation, fear, and shame by knowing and experiencing the unconditional love, forgiveness, and freedom in Christ."

The Enneagram is your internal GPS.

Know why you think, feel, and behave in particular ways so you can steer your internal life in the best direction for your type.

The Structure of the Enneagram

Wings

Wings are the two numbers on either side of your main Enneagram type. We use the attributes and characteristics of our wing to enhance or add other dynamics to our main type.

Triads

The three triads relate to the three centers of intelligence. There are three personality types in each triad. The three types in each triad share common themes and issues

around their center of imbalance. Each person uses all three centers to some degree, but one center is more dominant than the other two. This dominant triad also holds our main type inside it.

Lines & Arrows The arrows are like a _________________ strip on the highway; it warns us that we are veering off our best path. The lines and arrows in the Enneagram are paths we take when we are under stress and when we are growing.

Levels of Health

It shows that there will be great variations within the same personality type.

Two people with the same Enneagram type will look vastly different if they are at different levels of development.

*Please note -- as a Christian our status in Christ remains secure no matter if we are living out in the healthy, average, or unhealthy levels of development.
