THE COMPANY Evansville, like the rest of the country, was beginning to recover from the depths of the Depression in the mid-1930s when several teachers decided to pool their savings to generate much-needed loans for their fellow workers and themselves in 1936. The first employee groups to be served by Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union were the Board of Education and Evansville College in Evansville, Indiana, now known as the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation and the University of Evansville. Today the Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in Indiana and continues to thrive.

THE CHALLENGE Given the history of Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union, there has been a continuous growth year to year that has brought the Credit Union to the point of needing a new 90,000 square foot facility. This facility has state of the art equipment and tools to enhance the services that are offered to their near 200,000 members. ETFCU not only wanted to create a space that was functional and could meet the needs of their employees, but they equally wanted to elevate the client experience and in doing that wanted a space that was reflective of the values of the organization and made clients feel at-home. It has been said that ETFCU is one Evansville's most beautiful buildings. The story ends there but begins with many hands working to develop this Evansville asset.

THE SOLUTION With a goal to design a family friendly facility along with a safe environment for its employees, Kimball teamed with ETFCU and Business Environments to create new standards for their interior furniture needs. ETFCU developed a trust in Business Environments to lead them to products that would provide the necessary needs for their employees and customers and create the atmosphere that they were looking for. Kimball was able to provide all of their furniture needs, that included open plan and private office space for the employees as well as furniture in the open areas for customers.

The result incorporated Kimball products that established an aesthetic blend which presented a fresh comfortable surrounding and maintained the excellence of solid wood furnishings. The Interior concept for the furniture was created by experiencing the furniture first hand through a visit to Kimball's showroom in Jasper Indiana. That visit provided ETFCU the vision for the type of furniture they wanted in their new space as well as the partners that could bring the space to life.

The majority of the employees are staffed with Xsite and Footprint and Wish seating to create the flexible work area. However, the private offices utilize Priority and Definition Desk units. The executive wing consists of primarily Definition casegoods. The President's office is outfitted in Transcend casegoods. Most of the open waiting areas include Enjoy or Delano soft seating. Dock Training is also used throughout.

"Kimball has proven to be a conscientious company that puts their clients first and foremost providing service and knowledge to assure the end user that they have chosen wisely. Kimball's products have provided for ETFCU's employees, a comfortable work atmosphere for all facets of the workplace," stated Tammy Neel, Interior Designer, Business Environments.

Working with the team at ETFCU, Business Environments and Kimball has been a road to success in developing a beautiful, efficient, and functional facility for the employees and members.

"Working on a project like this is what makes being a Kimball partner such a great asset. Being able to address all facets of the project with one primary manufacturer, and partnering with that manufacturer to set delivery and installation schedules makes it a smother project for the designer, the dealer and especially for the customer," stated Kirk L. Mitchell, President, Business Environments.
