Ocean Beach Education Foundation Ilwaco, WA

Vision: Admiral John G. “Jack” Williams Jr., USN Ret., while serving on the school board, saw that state and federal funding of public schools is not sufficient to provide for anything beyond the barest of programs. To enhance the educational opportunities for our children, alternative funding is necessary. With this in mind Mr. Williams worked to establish the Ocean Beach Education Foundation. His belief was that any improved educational opportunities for our children rest with local responsibility.

Purpose: The purpose of the Ocean Beach Education Foundation is to enhance the quality of education provided to the students by raising funds for the Ocean Beach public schools on a regular, ongoing basis and through endowment programs. The expenditure of these funds is for the improvement of educational opportunities for the children of this area that are not provided through other funding resources. It is the policy of the Foundation that the items funded must have a high priority as determined by the board, and must have broad utilization and substantially equal distribution among the schools of the district.

Goal: ….To reach a $1 million + endowment fund that will provide perpetual contributions, affording increased educational opportunities in the Ocean Beach School District.
